kca1fan replied to Themo123's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
So it is going on 3 months post op and I can say Dr. Holloway and his team are the best. So glad this is were I went. After reading some of the horror stories of bad surgeons and uncaring teams I know I am in good hands. -
200 Pound Loss Picw
kca1fan replied to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT!'s topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
The first thing I noticed was the cane being gone. you look great. I already feel so much better after losing 4o can't imagine how I will feel losing 200. You help me believe I can do it. Great job!!!!! -
I don't think it would be canceled because you are to big, it will be canceled because by gaining all that weight you will show you are not mentally ready for WLS. Do not fool yourself about what the lap band does. It will not keep you from eating. It is an appetite suppressant. If you are still eating when you are full it wont stop you. You will may feel some discomfort but you will learn to ignore that and eat anyway if that is your mind set. Good luck to you.

March Challenge-Lucky to be Losing!
kca1fan replied to lisaholland73's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
still 305 6 pounds for the month -
I signed up for the march challenge. My starting weight was 311 my goal is 300. Today I weighed 305. With only 5 days to go would it be cheating to do a liquid diet to get to my goal?

I just discovered lamb about a year ago and love it. The only way I have had it so far is lamb chops cooked on the grill and can't get enough of them. Listen to Hely friend her on face book awesome recipes found there.

Are you a Pessimist or an Optimist
kca1fan commented on ♥LovetheNewMe♥'s blog entry in LovetheNewMe's Blog
I am an optimist. One thing I would like to share with you is an article I read awhile back. When people are going through dementia or Alzheimer reading is one of the last things to go. When your momma asks 15 times on the way to doctor where you are taking her or where she is? Try righting it on a piece of paper. Maybe keep a little notebook in her pocketbook she can take out and read. I don't know if this will help but thought I would try. Good luck to you and her. -

kca1fan commented on Terry Poperszky's blog entry in Terry Poperszky's Blog
Very low in calories and no fat. I keep a bowl in my fridge at all times. I also put in bell pepper. -
I am just checking in two months out and down 19 pounds. Also over three weeks no smoking. I am so glad I did this.

Graduate to my shoes tomorrow!
kca1fan replied to ShannaS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had staples too. Once again every surgeon is different. 5 incisions 4 with 2 staples each and 8 or 10 in the big one. Getting them out was nothing. I could have done it myself with a pair of needle nosed pliers. -
March Challenge-Lucky to be Losing!
kca1fan replied to lisaholland73's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just weighed in at 308 that's 1 pound less then I was. I have only lost 18 pounds since surgery and am already noticing how much easier some things are like putting on my shoes and jumping up in dads truck. I can't wait to see what being down 50 pounds is like. -
I just walked in the house and the first thing that crossed my mind was head to the kitchen and decide what to have for supper. I stopped myself and said why are you going to the kitchen your not hungry it's just what you are used to doing. Much like spending 10 minutes looking for your cigarettes then realizing you haven't bought a pack in 2 weeks because your quitting. I have been fat all my life, I have smoked since I was 11 that's 35 years. I have abused alcohol and or other drugs from the age of 14-35. Today was the first time I realized to change these behaviors all require the same things. Not only do you have to change the behavior you must change the vicious cycle that got you there in the first place. Such as not making food so important. Knowing that difference between wanting something and needing something. Well I don't know if this is the right forum for this and don't know if this qualifies as a success but it is a success to me. Just in case here are my successes I was banded on 1/21/13 and have lost 17 lbs. I have not bought a pack of cigarettes since Feb. 11th. I was bumming one here and there but have not touched one in over a week.

there are pressure points right in the center of your palm that will relieve this pain. take your fingers of one hand and press in other hand hold for like 10 seconds slowly release and then switch hands. right in the center of your feet as well.

cans of food and bags of potatoes make great weights. Elastic bands are cheap and can help tone just as if lifting weights. Give those grand babies airplane rides on your feet kids too depending on age/size.
