It's Friday!!! WhoooHOO!! I think we should all take a minute and post something that we are grateful for - an NSV - a happy moment - something that made you feel 10 feet tall and bullet proof - (not tequila ) - maybe someone said or did something nice for you this week that made you feel special .......and....go! my husband has been really sweet this week and he picked roses for me and made me a small bouquet and put them in a little mason jar and brought them to me at work and they are on my desk - which was really nice because he really doesn't do stuff like that - so it was 100 times more special to me that he thought of me when i really needed a pick me up this week.

i hope you heal very quickly!!! OUCH!

What do you say when.....
devillynn replied to AussieSam's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
i say thanks!! And if they ask how ...i tell them how -
I am from Texas too! I live in West Texas - out by Abilene... good luck to you! The best decision i have ever made was to have the sleeve done.
-
really trying to keep my brain in the game this morning....sigh...
-
i am too! i am not going to be ashamed of my saggy arms. i know they will never be 100% firm again but i will not be confined to 3/4 sleeves forever!!!!!!!!!!! I need to feel the sun on my saggy skin! LOL!!! And if people don't like it then they best look someplace else that's all i've got to say...

yep. and to this day i still have issues with it. fine one day and blowing up (literally) the next. i don't have it as often now but it is still there ....lurking....waiting....

it is hard to tell at first when you're full. and it is better to stop than to over eat.my surgeon suggested i do what was called the 3 bite method - after i started eating of course - but you take a bite and chew it until it is liquid before you swallow then repeat that until you get 3 bites in - then wait 5 minutes before you eat another bite. If you are still hungry eat another bite in the same manner and wait 5 minutes in between each bite until you are satisfied. He tld me to eat until satisfied not "full" - i didn't realize what he meant until after i had the surgery and was getting satisfied on far less food than before. It doesn' seem like much food but if you are eating 5-6 small meals a day then you should be fine. now during the liquids part i just drank as much as i could at a time. I was able to drink my shakes with no problems once i got on that part of my liquid diet - as long as i took it nice and slow. My stomach makes all kinds of strange noises and sometimes very loud and in the most public of places...lol...it is normal i'm pretty sure!! i hope some of this helps.

ohhhh! cravings are the worst. i still fight the little demons in my head....because they are in my head ...they are not coming from my stomach...i gave in not long ago and had some cake at a dinner i was at... wrong choice.... a bite of it might have been ok...but no that wasn't good for me i had a bite then a bit later since the plate was still there i had some more and then a little more and that last bite made me sick. it was so stupid. and snacking is hard to fight - i am trying to replace it with Water and exercise like the other folks have suggested and it is helping to re-program my brain a bit.
-
Do you feel full? i felt full even on liquids after my surgery. I am in my 11th month and i still get a full feeling when drinking protein shakes. I know not everyone is the same but i i would think you feel kinda full?

What is your TRUE weight loss goal?
devillynn replied to LipstickLady's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
When i went in for my consult my doc asked me the question of what my goal weight was - i picked 170 - that was close to what i weighed when i was 18 - which was 155 - i am 29 pounds away from that first goal of 170 - which is what i am calling that now - my first goal. I have another goal now i will hit 155 - that is my personal goal fir myself - i have never publicly said that out loud to anyone - it has just been something i had in my heart of hearts. I know now that it is attainable. -
Finally did it after yrs of researching

Feeling blue? Time to "Baby-Up"!
devillynn replied to CanyonBaby's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@CanyonBaby yes! if your chickens are in a predator safe enclosure and have enough feed/water for the days you are gone then - yeah it shouldn't be a problem to leave them on their own for a few days. I live in the country and i have 53 chickens - part of mine free range and part of mine have large enclosures - so when i go anywhere i have to have one of my kids come see about them or something like that - i live on 90 acres in west Texas so making sure my flock is safe is very important - lots of predators around here! -
