So when I got banded on 11/12/2012 I weighed 298.5 lbs. I now weight 219 lbs almost a year later. My goal was to loose 100 lbs by my birthday this year wich is 12/17. I have a 10cc band and at 5.5 cc full. I feel restriction after I eat and get stuck occasionally. I'm plateauing right now and not getting that last bit of weight off. Been like this for a month. Worried that if I get another fill that I will have lots of more stuck episodes. When they happen I can usually get the food to pass within minutes. I just swallow a couple gulps of ginger ale and up it comes!!! But I really want to get to my goal by the end of this year. Should I just go get like a half cc just to give my stomach a little push? I've worked so hard Andy goal is right Infront of me!!! Just not sure...just worried I might over fill myself and be stuck all the time!!

Was it really necessary to keep saying she was overweight and even more necessary to say she was near a chicken wings restaurant?!!! Some people don't deserve to breathe !!! Very cruel!! -
Well I got my band in November and I wouldn't change a thing about it. I spent a good 6 months before I decided to tell my family my plans. I am 32 and have 2 small boys ages 4&2. I also did this for them because I want to be here for them in the long run. I'm pretty healthy but I have extreme rheumatoid arthritis as well as an auto immune disease on my liver called PBC which only allows me to take prednisone for my RA. Being on it for 5 years was a lot. One year ago I noticed I was gaining weight and it just blew up!! I gained almost 110 in one year from the medications. I never really over ate but I made bad choices!! I had my band done to help me change my life and help with my arthritic pain wich was getting worse! I chose the band over the sleeve or bypass. The band helps you transform your life slowly so you can adapt and slowly see the transformation. Bypass and sleeve weight loss happens do much faster and it's like you look in the mirror one day and your like "holy crap! Where have I gone!!" And it can be. Shock. No only that but your insides are re routed like plumbing!!! I'm happy watching myself change slowly so I can keep up with it!! A couple people and doctors and staff at first tried to talk me into the bypass or sleeve but it was my decision to make and not there's. especially when there skinny twigs themselves!!! Today I am 50lbs lighter. And I'm so happy I did it and look forward to seeing how far this journey takes me!! I have more energy and find myself so much more motivated than before!!' I hope you make the best decision for you no matter what you choose!!! Remember its your life and don't let anyone push you into a procedure that your not 100 %comfy with!!

Maybe this just isn't meant to be?

So sorry to hear that!!! I took about 5 months before I made a decision to get it done and when I finally made the appointment.... I was so nervous I was going to be denied!!! I totally agree absolutely do not give up!! See how much it is put of pocket and see if you can do a payment plan. There has to be something!! Look at your policy and see what it says about covering procedures that are "medically necessary". There may be a loop hole. I've heard other banders who have got approval because they read there policy and found out themselves or have set up payment plans. Work hard and never give up!! You will get what you want in the end if you just be persistent!!!! I'm sending good thoughts to you!!! -
I had my first fill on dec 27. I now have 3cc in my band. I don't feel full at all!! I felt full on my empty band and had several issues with food getting stuck. But now that I got a fill..., I feel like there is no bottom to my stomach !! I feel no restriction and I don't like it. I'm really conscious about what eating and I'm eating what and the amount I'm suppose to but I'm waiting got that full feeling and I don't get it. Any ideas from you seasoned vets !!!??

Well I think I figured out why I'm so hungry and not feeling full. Apparently my cycle has changed and I got my "friend" tonight!!! I will wait a couple days and I should be good!!!

I called my doc like you all suggested! He told me he actually stitched the band to my stomach do it won't slip! He does this to minimize band slippage !!! Cool !!! He said if I need to commit to go ahead you can't control it anyway but just relax and try not to tense up.. It help your stomach and stomach muscles relax. If I feel severe pain later on after vomiting then to call him or go to ER!! But thank you for all your advice!! Banded family for life !!!

What should you do if u have the flu? Only nauseas no vomiting. I know ur not suppose to vomit but its not that easy to stop it if u do! Should you get your band unfolded or just let them know?!!

I think I just had a bout if the flu. Everyone in my family had it to but I never threw up! It's finally gone!!! My first fill was 3cc and dont feel a difference.in appetite. I'm still hungry but I am getting that full feeling after less than a cup of food! If that makes any sense!!! I'm going to go back early for another fill. My band was empty after surgery to allow everything to heal so I only gave the 3cc so I think I need more to actually feel it! What do you guys think?

Has anyone had any nausea after a fill? I have had such bad nausea since my fill. Wondering if its related!
