  1. So this past weekend I finished a race that was on my bucket list :-) Something I could not have done a few months ago. I did the Spartan Sprint: 5 miles, 20 obstacles in the mud and rain with 35 degree weather. My team finished 6th out of 612 teams and I am on cloud nine. I can't wait to do more races this year and continue to see the scale drop :-)
  2. So I was banded 12/19 I am down 26 pounds. 10 more pounds and I will be under the 200 mark I can not wait :-) I had my first fill yesterday they numbed it and then did the fill felt only a slight prick from the numbing. My band is at 3ccs now. I have been using my fitbit and working out. My eye is on the goal and this is getting exciting :-)

    Banding on December 19

Hey tara, I am goal driven so I got a bottle and marked the 64oz mark on it. I fill that with water and drink on it all day until the water is gone. If it starts getting to warm I will add an ice cube or two. But if you can see what you need to consume for the day. The 64 oz is 3.75 bottles of bottled water if it helps to look at it that way too :-)

I am not doing six meals I do 3 meals plus 2 protein shakes. I gues every doctor is differnt. I have been doing plain cottage cheese for breakfast at 8am. Nectar protein shake at 10. Hummus with sun dried tomatoes or tuna fish with some plain yogurt mixed in for lunch at 12. Then Nectar protein shake at 2pm. Then dinner at 6 which I have been doing one scrambled egg with pureed zucchini mixed in. I take the breakfast and lunch and shakes with me to eat at work and then do the dinner at home.

Jmd thats fine :-) I did not get a fill I just had my first post op appintment. My first fill is not until 2/7 at the earliest :-) My dr makes us wait at least 6 weeks post op.
  6. So I was banded on the 19th. I had my first post-op yesterday. They do not put any fluid in the band at my Drs office until you are 6 weeks out from surgery so I will go in 2/7 for that, which is 2 days before the hubby and I take a romantic trip to St Thomas. So excited :-) I got to move to mushies last night I had a scrambled egg with pureed zucchini in it. It tasted like pure heaven. This morning I enjoyed cottage cheese and I am really looking forward to hummus for lunch :-) My port site is becoming less irritated so that is great. Just hope I keep losing. Goal is 10 lbs this month :-) They only released me to walking last night so treadmill here I come.

  8. Aimy I do not have any pressure but I too am still having to sleep on my back because it hurts at my port site to sleep on my side. Which stinks because I am a side sleeper. I am really hoping it heals soon. Anyone have any insight as to how long it takes to heal?

I had mine on the 19th as well. All is going well, even went and watched the Cowboys vs Skins game last night and frooze my booty. But I didn't cheat :-) My only problem is pain at the port site. It hurts to tie my shoes or bend over and it still hurts to sleep on my side. Is anyone else having this?
  10. So I am feeling pretty good since my surgery on the 19th. I went and tail gated and watched the Skins stomp the Cowboys last night. I stood for the 4 hours of tail gating and then stood the entire game. I ate my soup and just fought off wanting to enjoy tail gate food. I can't wait to move to mushies. Post-Op appointment Thursday :-) My only problem is it hurts to tie my shoes and hurts to bend over at my port site. Does anyone else have this problem? If so what are you doing about it? Looking forward to an amazing and healthy 2013.
  11. I found a great whey protein it is Nectars Fuzzy Navel. It is clear like a juice and has an orangey/peachey flavor. I pretend I am having a cocktail :-) It is a great deal on Amazon. I do not like the milkey ones so needed to find an alternative. I have a question does anyone have pain at their port site when they bend at the waist? Maybe I just need to heal longer but it hurts to bend to pick things up I dropped or to sitt perfectly upright it feels irritated. Thanks :-) Oh and I find a cup of prune juice a day keeps me happy.
  12. I was banded 12/19, they also found a hernia and fixed it so I have ben recovering from that too. I was happy to remove the pain pump 12/22 and take a warm shower. I am feeling good for the most part. I started back to work that Monday 12/24 and sometimes my port site feels irritated so I lean back in my chair to ease it. For BM I suggest a 1/4 cup of warm prune juice (This was suggested by my Dr). The holidays were hard but I had to keep reminding myself nothig tastes as good as skinny feels. last night my hubby was checking out my incisions and commented on how good I am looking already. That felt great. Good luck everyone.
