I started this journey in June 2012 I was going to have lap band surgery and after doing all my pre-surgery requirements for my insurance I was denied 2x's!:( Insurance denied saying I couldn't use the nurse practitioner at the same office of the surgeon, which was going to be Dr. Malley then. The office gave up on me I never heard back from them after 2nd letter of denial and felt very discouraged to the point I had gave up on thinking I'd ever get lap band surgery. Then I started seeing a new physician and was diagnose with high(extremely)cholesterol, and high blood sugar, I'm on 7 different meds n vitamins now and still diet with little exercise(because I'm depressed). My doctor asked me the other day if I would consider getting weight loss surgery. I started crying and she asked why I told my run down on trying to get lap band and how I should of been banded in January. Well I had to have gall bladder out and the surgeon who done that also does weight loss surgeries he told me I would be better candidate for the Sleeve then and the thought has been in my mind since April 2013. Now its August 2013 and I'm going to start this procedure all over and hope to hell the insurance gives me a break knowing I have more symptoms and lost hardly any weight following doctors orders. Wish me luck and let my renewed journey begin. I pray I get it approved so I become healthy and more active for my kids' sake and mine too!
