    Liquid Multi Vitamins

I just do the chewable kind! Either 2 of the flinstones kind (generic brand) or centrum ha an adult chewable. Just chew them up well and dissolve pretty easy to swallow! That's what my surgeon recommends and so far it's been easy!

    Bitter taste with protein drinks

First off are u still suppose to be on shakes? Have they not let u move on to something different? Anyway what flavor have u tried? If u like sweet I have found that adding in 1 tbsp of sf ff butterscotch pudding and a small amount of peanut butter mixed with a chocolate shakes helps a lot. Or making a peanut butter chocolate one or a peanut butter banana chocolate shake. Hope that gives u a few options to try!

    4 days post-op

It will get better. I did a lot of walking around the house and the heating pad. I even continued to take pain meds if it got bad. Good luck!

Gas pain everytime i drink my shakes

The unflavored also gives me problems. Idk. I get to start with creamy soups today so I'm hoping I will be able to find enough substitutes of natural protein cause they seem to sit well with me better. I had a very small spoonful of refried beams and cottage cheese and didn't have any problems at all. So I'm going to try and blend those into soups! :-) thanks

    Finall Banded!

Well that's good glad it alleviating itself! I'm on day 8 now. Get to start creamy soups. I did try a small spoonful of refried beans and cottage cheese yesterday. They both seemed to go down fine. I took a very long time chewing them though. Haha

    Is This Normal?

I haven't been able to find any adult except liquid Tylenol. I just got the children's. I only take 20ml which is 400mg. It last a while. I actually for mine at the dollar store this time cause I didn't want to go to Walmart just for that. It was like 4 bucks. Hth

    I want it but....

To add I've also heard if u lose it at a slow steady pace and work out that the elasticity will be better so therefore less loose skin. It's hard to know for sure though. The loses skin I def way better than the health problems u might develop from being obese!

    Newbie, Surgery the 28th!

Yw. The pain from the surgery isn't too bad except where the port is which is on the left side. The incision pain isn't bad at all. It's the gas pain that's worse.

    Newbie, Surgery the 28th!

I don't really have any before except to find the protein shakes u like. I found one that I actually really like and can tolerate. I use chocolate protein powder with ff milk add in a tsp of peanut butter and 1 tbsp of sf ff butterscotch pudding powder. It's called a butterfinger shake. I'm a sweets person so this def helps me. I'm post op day 7 and am finishing up my shake today. It def helped the shake go down smoother. As far as for afterwards.... Make sure u things are within your reach. Have a pillow to be able to hold against your tummy if u have to cough. Invest in a heating pad and liquid ibuprofen for when u don't need the actual pain meds. Be prepared for lots of possible discomfort from gas pain which can occur anywhere. I never took the gas x strips cause the hearing pad did the trick do me but It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have those handy too!

    Is This Normal?

Yeah I completely understand. It very uncomfortable. It's also def worse in the mornings. I have found that since I'm not taking the pain meds anymore that taking liquid ibuprofen has helped. I take it twice daily while I'm awake. Like once when I first get up then again right before I go to work at 3. I assume this is what's helping thur the day cause it reduces inflammation!

    PRE OP LIQUID DIET

Oh wow that's crazy! When is your surgery date? I guess every surgeon is different and it might have to do with your bmi. Who knows? Yes unfortunately very normal. You're hungry and that's probably why. Not sure why it makes u feel like that but mine always does when I'm hungry. Maybe the constant twisting is upsetting it? Try some hot tea with honey and/or lemon. See if that eases the nausea! Hope that feeling goes away!

    PRE OP LIQUID DIET

    Post op day 6

Surgery was on 12/13. First 2 days were fine. The on days 3-5 were pretty rough. Was trying to only take the pain meds when I actually needed them. Had a lot of bouts of nausea everytime I was in pain. Along with tons of gas pains of course. And coughing was horrible even with a pillow to my side. Hadn't got to sleep in bed and when I did sleep in bed it was straight on my back and I would wake up in agony. I haven't had an appetite forcing myself to eat (drink) something. Well today I could actually roll out of bed with minimal pain and I'm able to move a lot easier. I actually slept on my sides sort of (a lot of propping up with pillows) but still actually for a decent night of sleep. Fas has subsided tremendously. I felt hunger for the first time today and actually ate/drank very thin cream of wheat with a scoop of chocolate protein powder with some Splenda. I'm hoping this new feeling will stay with me! It's wonderful. I just hope I don't get too hungry now haha!!! There is light at the end of the tunnel! I know there might be dark days but I'm def ready to battle those for all the light days! Good luck everyone!!! The people in this forum are just awesome! Thanks guys!!!

    Anyone in the mesa area?

I just bought the 100% premium protein which is way the doc office recommended from SAMs. It's only powder. I mix it with ff milk and some peanut butter and butterscotch pudding. It's delicious!
