Very upset with my weight loss center...
Terry Poperszky replied to TattooBeauty's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
All I can tell you is what I do. I start off with coffee, I have my shake when I arrive at work (7:00), I eat something solid (eggs, oatmeal) at about 9 then I eat lunch at 12:00, and a snack at 3:00. The shake doesn't have any staying power with the band, but I want protein in me as soon as possible, so I eat it first then solid food after Mistress Band has loosened her grip a little. -
Sorry you have had so much trouble, hoping you find an answer that is right for you

How much have you lost since your Jan 2013 surgery?
Terry Poperszky replied to LapBandit2013's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You need to practice believing in yourself In the weight loss arena we are each our own normal. And don't apologize for asking, I wasn't rebuking you, I was cautioning you -

Help!! Do I Give The Old Clothing Away????
Terry Poperszky replied to shrcumm's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
This is a rule with me, clothing that is too large is moved out of the house as soon as possible. I can not afford (mentally) to make provision for failure in my life. -
Great Job!

The only time coffee affects your weight loss is if you sin against nature and put something that is non-coffee in the cup with it and don't count the calories. My Doc is LDS and has no problems with his patients drinking coffee, which told me he was the Dr. for me. Btw, sitting here with my first cup of fresh roasted coffee from India, steeped to perfection for 4 minutes and then straight to my cup.

how am i supposed to consume 1500 calories a day?
Terry Poperszky replied to angieband's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Believe me, it is doable on solid foods and not resorting to junk foods or sliders -
I have been putting it in my soup, my refried beans and tonight I used it to moisten my tuna salad by mixing it with the low fat mayonnaise, I like the tartness that it adds.

Difficulty with ground meats?

Consider shredded beef and shredded chicken instead. I prefer their texture. -
Question - Beware Fairly Personal
Terry Poperszky replied to Redesigned_Curves's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You mean while they were having sex? First off, I'm not female, nor am I in maintenance stage, but I will admit that sometimes during orgasm I do have a bit of pain from tensing my abdominal walls where my port is sewn. As for later on, I would assume it would have a lot to do with the rigor of the coupling as well as the position(s) being used. Please forgive the direct language in my post, -

1/7/13 20 pounds (beat you DHG!) Lapbandit, be careful with this type of question, from what I have seen one of the easiest way to get discouraged is to compare your WL to others. I have always been able to drop the weight, but have known others that had real trouble in that area. Slow and steady downward trend is what to look for. -

I resent that, the sound of my voice is extremely melodious. Of course I like listening to it. -
considering lapband. questions.
Terry Poperszky replied to cline's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good response MsMaui, may I add a couple of points? 1. There are studies out now that show that long term, the band is effective for keeping the majority of weight that is lost off. 2. Don't rely on the industry stats, as you research surgeons, ask for their personal stats. One of the things that impressed me is that during the seminar, my Dr. followed up the industry stats with a slide of his stats from over 900 procedures. -

Husband had Surgery Today
Terry Poperszky replied to Let's do this's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wife and daughters have a healthy relationship with food. For me, it is out of site, out of mind. They have their treats, but not usually in front of me. They don't sneak food, but they are just being polite. As for dinners, I am the cook of the house and my wife complained that what I was fixing for myself was better than what I was fixing for them during the clear liquid phase, I simply dined alone. Once I graduated to mushie I made some delicious Soups that the whole family enjoyed. -
The world of solid food is scary...
Terry Poperszky replied to Terry Poperszky's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Guys, if I seem to have been over reacting, don't read too much into it. Dipping my toe back into the solid food realm, to be bushwhacked so soon is something that I need to consider. Yes, Mistress Band kept me in line, and for that I am grateful. And no I haven't give up hope and binged But now that I am back in the solid food realm, all of the cravings and bad eating habits are coming back, screaming "YOU CAN EAT ME NOW" unless I am aware, then I will get bushwhacked again. Introspection is helpful upon occasion -

Ok, I'm unclear on what you are trying to accomplish. You aren't "deputizing", but you want to form committees? You already have a suggestion of a committee for every forum. What is the purpose and scope of the committee? Different rules? Enforce the rules? I am not really grasping your vision. -

I'm good with that Alex, a Benevolent Dictatorship is one of the best methods for running a forum IMHO -
Can we get a unlike button?

It became a police state as some of the posse took it upon themselves police any post that was not expressed in a way that they approved of. For instance, on this site you have a group of people who believe that being direct and honest is the best way to deal with people. And you have others that go out of their way to be empathetic and do their best to avoid hurting anyone's feelings. There is a constant state of tension between the two camps. Who is right? Neither, both. But as the posse is built they will try to enforce their views on the opposing camp. But such is life. -

Thanks guys, I have just had such great control since the surgery and like most of the people here, I am terrified of failure. BTW, I do love the control that Mistress Band gave me -
Ok, laugh if you like, but spandex over hair itches. Come snowmelt, I will be back on my bike, which means spandex and shaved legs.

Oh great, Sherrif's Joe's posse for the lapband forum. Just what this place needs. Sorry for the sarcasm, but I have been on sites with "deputized" users and have been unimpressed with the results.
