Better to be nice and fat, than mean and thin.
Terry Poperszky replied to Banjo257's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, still pissed that I pointed out your "Star Wars" quote was wrong. Man, you really hold a grudge! -
CG they are centered here in Utah which because of Mormonism is the Mecca for genealogists. I have interacted with some of their IT people and found them to be exceptionally sharp, and I have heard nothing but good about the company.

Well, the real problem was that the poster forgot to mention that you should let the coffee cool down before use, took forever for those stupid blisters to heal -

Sorry Sojourner, you have your facts wrong. I have pasted in the text of the first amendment to help you. Amendment I Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. This is a private forum and does not fall under the first amendment, Additionally I have seen the owner of this forum (Alex) publicly rebuke a user for handing out false and dangerous advice (And this is his right). But, if you expect me to stand by while someone tells people to make their band work, they need to do daily enemas with grapefruit juice and black coffee, you are going to to be disappointed. -
Coffee (not decaf)??
Terry Poperszky replied to cat whisperer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Man, you guys say you like coffee and you are talking about PODS??? I'll bet you put cream and sugar in it as well! Fresh roasted Beans, a burr grinder and a french press is all you really need. Fact is if I'm in a hurry in the morning I just grab a hand full of beans, and a cup of boiling Water. Throw the beans in your mouth and chew them until they are a coarse grind, take a swig of hot water, hold it in my mouth for 4 minutes and swallow! -
Thinking about a revision to the bypass

Can't speak to your pain, but looking at your pictures if you can't see the difference I don't know what to tell you. Maybe glasses? -

I respectfully disagree, points of view that are based on misinformation and falsehoods are by definition not valid. And before you jump down my freaken throat, I have seen some really stupid (and dangerous) information passed out on this forum as the gospel truth. -
I hate to break it to you, but the band goes around your stomach, not the other place.

Carb Cycling- An Experiment Gone Right!
Terry Poperszky replied to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT!'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ok, Missy. I tried it and hate it. Too much like being on a diet. BUT I dropped 3 pounds, so if that is what it takes to break a plateau, I think I can handle it for a week or so -
Told you the first 5 were the hardest. I am impressed, good work.

There have been several, but a couple that stand out... 1. I found a dress shirt that I really loved, but not only was it a smaller size than I thought I could wear, it was marked slim cut. I tried it on to see how far away I was and it fit! I have shopped in the fat and "husky" selection since I was in elementary school. 2. Today, I got tired of all my XXL exercise short looking so baggy, so I went shopping for some new ones and I am currently wearing a pair of large. Standing in front of the mirror trying them on, the I noticed the belly was gone. I couldn't believe it was me I was looking at in the mirror.

My coffee makes truck drivers cower in fear, and I have several cups a day. -
Was feeling kinda lonely today.

Good job, planning ahead will help you through the social situations. -
Thanks for this Jean, this is one of my biggest fears. I do not want to take my weight loss for granted, because the moment I do the "Fat Boy" will be on his way back.

Nobody Prepares you for this part...
Terry Poperszky replied to AngelaLou99's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm with Lellow, shopping was a chore to be done. Now, it rocks, finding that I can fit into clothes that I never dreamed I would be able too. Buying something a little too tight, and loving the feeling when it fits just right and then starts to get loose! -
Yea, found that out in biking, but not too worried. My wife keeps grabbing my "Gluteus maximus" every time I walk past, so it can't look too bad. BTW, normal peddaling in spin does focus on the Quads, but Isolations and hovering do transfer the work to the back of the upper legs as well. Fact is my entire upper leg burns during isolations, which is why I hate them so much.

Walking is the universal constant after surgery. Be careful of the reduced calories and don't over do it at first.

Ugh. I can eat anything !
Terry Poperszky replied to tdchicago's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Most of us, can eat anything...The band when properly filled is supposed to help you feel full longer when you eat the right things. But I hate to tell you this, you will ALWAYS be able to eat past your band. It is your helper, not your warden. There are certain things that are harder for me to eat, but they aren't on the list of things you are craving. Keep up the good work, it does get easier and 40 pounds is amazing! -
I love spin, but as far as I can tell it hasn't helped my butt cheeks at all, they still look like deflated balloons.

Catfish is the one we have to catch. He takes what ever I do and adds 10 miles on it just to show off I remember the first time I went 5 miles, I was so proud of myself, and once you get the first 5 miles down the rest is a piece of cake. I just set a goal of every time I went to go 10 percent farther. You will be amazed how quickly it adds up.

Sure felt like it this morning, the return trip at 67.8 degrees was much more pleasant.
-
My wife said she doesn't care how much weight I lose, I had better not start dating again. Good luck on your efforts
-
And the return trip is done for a total of 3 hours, 43 miles, 2200 calories. I am sitting in my easy chair sipping a protein shake. I think I will rest for a while

Wow, the website is so proud of me it posted my topic twice!
