A lot of people have surgery in Mexico or other states and fly home a couple days after surgery. -

Good to know your getting better, it is at least a two week recovery with the flu. Just make sure you continue lots of fluid. I'm sure your body aches especially you abdomen because of all the vomiting you had. Take care it will get better the worst is over. -

Flu vs leak symptom
Jbrewer2933 replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Fiddleman! Whether it is the flu or a leak both are very serious. With flu symptoms that bad you need to go to the hospital, dehydration is no joke. I work in a hospital and we are seeing very harsh gastrointestinal symptoms with the flu this year, and a lot of dehydration. Have your wife take you to ER. -

I am having pain on my left side of my chest, like a bruised feeling. I really don't feel it until I press on my chest, I see my surgeon tomorrow but thinking about going to the hospital tonight, any thoughts?

If anyone has netflix please watch "Hungry for change", it is truly amazing and hits so close to home. This is not a documentary on a bunch of healthy people telling you to change and be healthy, this is about people who were overweight or morbidly obese and changed.

If you are on beta blockers such as Toporol DO NOT stop cold turkey, you need to when off. -

It's really about preparing you and giving the discipline before you start this journey. You will have a much harder time coping with the surgery if you cheat now. I know a good amount of people who cheated and did fine with the surgery. It is all mental, your going to have that headache and lightheaded feeling after surgery only you have no choice but to fight through it, I know your surgery is tomorrow but today just reflect on your relationship with food and try to prepare mentally. I am only 3 weeks out and I will tell you the surgery does not get rid of that mental hunger, so remain positive and focus on other things and you will do great.
