Exact same here! -
Since I haven't shared my decision to get banded with Facebook, I will do my status update here. Had my two week post op today. Got my stitches out, lost 19 lbs since surgery (12/21/12) and have my first fill scheduled for 2/1. My appetite is finally coming back but have been using MFP to track (great app!!) - okayed for mushies too. Hope to keep up this positive start til hit the green zone. Happy weekend all!

Must be something to do with Internet explorer - I wasn't able to sign in either. Used Firefox browser with no trouble! -
Great job Beth! Do you want to keep in contact? We were banded the same day and have the same surgeon! I live in Orleans.

Protein shake recommendations
tarajill replied to Rn925's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Isopure from GNC has 50 gram protein for two scoop shake, it's not bad and low carb. -
I had a cold last Friday when I had my Lapband. I called the day ahead to let the surgery staff know and then reminded my nurse when I arrived. If your lungs are clear (just upper respiratory) they probably will as well as no fever. The anesthesiologist will probably have input as well since he is responsible for keeping you breathing! Just call, better safe than sorry and will be one less thing to worry about!

New and just banded 12/21
tarajill replied to mgbenavides2003's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
We were banded the same day. I have pain in my right upper abdomen as well. It is near my large incision so I assume it is my port site as well. More of a discomfort than pain really and nothing I'm taking pain meds for. As much as the drs differ on postoperative diets I'm sure they vary on port placement too. Best wishes! -
I was banded the 21st. Each doctor has different instructions. Mine included 2 weeks liquid, clear first day then anything you can get through a straw (consistency wise). Then progress to mushies on week 3. My diet has mainly consisted of sf Popsicles, protein drinks (isopure 50 gram/ serving), broth, water, jello. I thinned out some pea soup and cream of wheat earlier today which helped break up the monotony.

Home and doing well! Had surgery approximately noon and was released at 3. Just some tenderness in my upper abdomen but very manageable. Able to get up and around just fine. Sipping on water and an isopure grape drink with no trouble. Resting and fighting head hunger already with all the commercials on tv! Thanks all!

Best wishes! I'm Friday!

I am supposed to have my band Friday. I have had an upper respiratory infection and threw up today due to the drainage. Will this make a difference? Thanks.

Hi all! My name is Tara, I'm a married mom of three and we live in Indiana. I am having my surgery with Dr. Ray on the 21st. I had just finished all my prereqs last week and had approval from BCBS in about 3 days! Maybe I'm worse off than I thought! Anyway I'm 5'7" and 260 and will be enjoying broth for Christmas dinner. I've learned a lot from exploring this website and hope to be an active member and successful LB patient. Thanks!
