4 days post op, does this look normal?
tarajill replied to herestoanewme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Looks like bruising? Unless your incision has come open or you have foul smelling discharge or a feverish site you are probably ok. Normal walking should not have caused any problems.Of course throw the generic disclaimer in to always check with your surgeon if you are concerned. -

How Much Do You Weigh Yourself?
tarajill replied to sunnysweety's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Every morning! -
I've had two fills and can still take big drinks of water no problem. If its not causing you any trouble then I wouldn't worry.

Seems like the more weight I lose the fatter I feel. I believe it is because before the surgery I was in such denial about my obesity and had not really looked in the mirror at myself, especially neck down. So this renewed awareness has made me very self conscious. I know it will get better just a weird thought to process and makes it hard to be happy with my success so far. Oh, and had my second fill yesterday. I've already developed a bad habit of wanting to "test" the fill. See if I can tell a difference or not right away! I think I have some degree of restriction with this one (4 mL in 10 mL band). The doctors office was like, wow, you are doing awesome.... and I said yeah, it is only because I am tracking every calorie and learned everything i needed to know from the LabBandTalk forum. Ha! I'm still not exercising yet.... queen of the good excuses I am! This is just as much mental work as physical, heading the right direction though. Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Oh, and I can't figure out how to do the before and after photos?

Terrific! Keep up the good work!

Ate really bad today, 2 months postoperative yesterday. I'll be glad when I get more restriction. So easy to fall back into old eating habits. I feel so "ugggghhh" after not following my usual high protein diet and going over my 1200 calories/day. Need a band for my brain and my stomach. Plan to do better tomorrow and hope the weather is nice to go for a walk.

Was surprisingly easy. Numbed then 2 cc in my 10 cc band. Since surgery day on 12/21/12 went from 262 to 226 today. The PA was surprised. I told her it was simply will power at this point and using my fitness pal app. Wish I could keep up this rate of loss but know it will slow. Still have to start exercising as well.

Well that was no fun! 5 weeks post op and no fill yet. Was in Sunday school and was eating a sausage link. Ate too fast/didn't chew good enough. Chest pain then felt it needed to come up. Went to bathroom and puked it up. Not my usual violent vomiting though thank goodness. Followed by some burping. After that felt much better! Scary but lesson learned!

Right there with you gals. Banded 12/21, first fill 2/1.... Getting an appetite back for sure but sticking to 1000 cal/day and 60 gram protein. Looking forward to a fill to see if I can tell a difference!

2 week pre surgery rn seminar
tarajill replied to chantelleb816's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Getting a urinary catheter during surgery is very common. Common practice is to insert and remove the catheter while you are still sedated. Staying overnight - it is their responsibility to give you this information for informed consent and it actually sounds like they were very forthcoming which is a good thing. Any scheduled outpatient surgery has the possibility of turning into an overnighter - just make arrangements for child care etc. in case. Nerves are normal! You will be fine! -
