My story is difficult to tell but even more difficult to live through! I had my surgery in 2010, initially lost 80 pounds fairly quick and without much effort. I made the mistake of allowing my band to do all the work! I maintained my 80 pound weight loss for about 6 months and unfortunately my mother got very ill and I began taking care of her. I picked up my old habits of stress eating and stopped getting fills and visiting my doctor and gained ALL my weight back plus an additional 15 pounds. I felt like such a failure and lost all hope of reaching any of my goals! My mother just recently past away in November and I decided that the best way to on or her legacy, and to fully live my life, I need to really focus on my own health and start all over from square 1.
I have the realize band and I made an appointment to get a fill, I have since lost 7 pounds and I am committed to reaching my goal of 170 pounds. I know now that I have to make changes in my lifestyle and not just depend on my band to do all the work! Healthy choices and an active lifestyle along with the support of my loved ones will help me finally beat the bulge! I am thankful for my second chance! One thing I did inherit from my mother was her fighting spirit and strength! I will pursue and overtake this battle! Good Luck to everyone and here's to living Happy, Whole and healthy!
