OUCH! Glad nothing was broken! AND that it didn't happen while you were still sore from surgery!

The crazy way my husband handles tel a marketing call.
Angie4b1g replied to crazycat's topic in The Lounge
I make my husband answer because I can't say no. I'd buy anything. LOL -
Same here! Whenever they ask when my last one was I'm always like "uh.... I dunno?"

It was worse than I expected that first day, too. I was laying in bed in the hotel wondering WHY I would have considered this. By the 2nd day, I no longer regretted my decision (although I had a hard time climbing into our pillow top bed lol). By day 5 I was sleeping on my stomach!

I hope your cough lets up. I would definitely not want to be coughing those first 2 days after surgery. I was afraid to LAUGH! lol

UPDATE: I've only received one recipe via email, so at this point it's going to be a very short book! Remember, these don't have to be lap band specific recipes, just anything you make and love! (and can eat - we don't really want a whole book of chicken recipes or anything!) Once I get it compiled, you'll have your choice between a pdf (FREE) or a bound book (price TBD), so you really have nothing to lose and a great book to gain! Get those recipes to lbtrecipes@gmail.com !

Oh I love the idea of your cafe mocha! I switched to decaf, and once I weaned myself off the caffeine, I don't mind the difference. I hear my grandmother laughing at me from heaven for all the YEARS I made fun of people who drank decaf. Like, what's the point of decaf, why even drink the coffee, if I couldn't have caffeine I'd just die, etc etc. Karma.

Hmm. I can't eat much, but I can drink to my heart's content. That's a little scary now that I hear you all saying you couldn't even take in fluid! LOL

Gas, Churns, and other mystery noises

Ya my tummy is pretty loud, lately, too. lol And you don't have to give up your favorite foods, that's the beauty of it! Once you've recovered, you can have most of that stuff - in moderation. You won't get your money's worth at the all-you-can-eat, though! -
sorry~but how long after surger till you pooped?

About 2 days, but it smelled like it had been in there 100 years! Blech. -
Having a little difficulty with the preop diet...
Angie4b1g replied to ShellieB73's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It depends on what you're eating to make up those 1200 calories. If you make it high protein and low carb, you shouldn't really be hungry. -
For those with BMI 35-40?

The week I got lifetime at WW, I went to the meeting on a different day. I was at goal, and I got some of the DIRTIEST looks. And someone even said "You don't belong here". People don't think. -

Which band is everyone getting? My dr asked if I had a preference or if I just wanted him to use whichever one fit in there best, so let him decide. I got the AP 10cc band. He said it has a lower profile port? I haven't done much research on it yet. What's everyone else got?

I'm here in my hotel room, newly banded! I went in yesterday - my surgery was scheduled for 10, but the dr was running quite a bit behind, so I didn't get done til around noon. He told my husband the surgery was "extremely routine" and that everything went well. When I woke up I was pretty sore, but felt ok. They were getting ready to get me up and moving so I could be released, but when they gave me the pain meds, it really knocked me on my ass. I ended up not getting out til almost 7. Got back to the hotel, still very uncomfortable, couldn't find a good position in bed, and really wanted to kick myself for getting surgery. This morning, though, I'm feeling MUCH better. Like a totally different person from yesterday. Whew. I've only been taking 1/3 dose of the pain meds, because I do NOT want to go through what I went through yesterday again EVER. 1/3 seems to be plenty for me, so I'm going with it. My husband is here in the hotel with me, he's going to do a couple hours of work while I lounge around in bed with my laptop, then we are going to make the 3 hour trek home in crappy weather. Good luck to the rest of the VVs! I hope your surgery goes as smoothly as mine did!

So funny how every doctor has totally different post-op diet plans!

I'm now officially a Bandolero!
Angie4b1g replied to Mac the Knife's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well it sounds like you had a great banding experience! I can only imagine about the coughing... I've been trying really hard not to even laugh. If you've made it this far without a cigarette you don't need one! Keep it up! -
More than you ever wanted to know about my surgery experience
Angie4b1g replied to Shinyhappymommy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
They didn't give me anything before they woke me up, either. I thought that was kind of rude. LOL. But I was grateful, at least, that they took the breathing tube out first! -
Thanks for the well wishes, everyone! I'm still having some trouble sleeping, as I expected as I am normally a tummy sleeper. But, otherwise I guess I'm doing ok. Trying to sip Water through the day. I haven't eaten much of anything, maybe 1/3 cup of Soup broth, 4 or 5 bites of yogurt and half a packet of cream of wheat (and we were out of milk so it was just the Cereal lol). It's not that I can't eat, I just really don't feel the need to. This morning I'm having a medifast chai to try to get some nutrients and Protein in me.

I have a gym membership, and they contract with a few different personal trainers. Am I too fat for one? I'm afraid they are going to be like "get on treadmill and start walking and don't stop until you lose 50 pounds and THEN call me". lol Maybe I need Bob and Jillian.
-
Glad to hear you are doing so great! I'm just one day post-op, so I won't be doing any jumping, either. LOL

Not a recipe, but I'm enjoying the Isopure drinks a lot. 40g of protein in the bottle and they don't taste awful. Fills me up pretty well!
