I would suggest we start the 5k together, but it seems some of us are already in better shape than others (me being "others"). LOL

I Want My Band Removed Now!!!!!
Angie4b1g replied to yazmarrero85's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
And with a BMI of 38.7, you are most definitely in the "obese" category. I hope I misread the tone of that last post, but I got a "I'm not as fat as you all are so I don't need this" vibe from it. My BMI is currently 34.8 and I'm definitely obese, fat, and anything else you want to call it. Also not that confident that I can be one of the whopping 2% of people who manage to lose the weight and keep it off through diet and exercise. -
I Want My Band Removed Now!!!!!

So only lazy people are obese? -
I thought maybe you'd been off doing something that wasn't exercising with that Kramer bit. I actually asked my husband if he'd make me personalized C25k podcasts. He said he would, and got all the music streamed, he just hasn't added the voice yet. I'd much rather have him encouraging me. :w00t:

I TOTALLY agree with that! The kids love going to the buffets but I dread it, and did before banding as well. There's just really nothing there worth eating. I'd much rather go to a sit down place, order what I like, eat what I can and then either take the rest home, or not. I'm not paying $15 for the plate of food, I'm paying $15 for the night out with my husband. How much I eat is irrelevant.

I had pork tenderloin a few days ago and no trouble with it. It was nice and juicy, though, maybe that made the difference.

Won a trip to Vegas - Scared because have never flown
Angie4b1g replied to *susan*'s topic in The Lounge
I absolutely HATE flying, and every plane I'm on i just KNOW is going down. Every shake or rattle, and I'm preparing for my death. I really have no advice, though. I usually just white knuckle it through, and try to avoid ones that are longer than 3 hours, that seems to be my limit. Good luck, Vegas is definitely worth the trip! You might even find it not as scary as you thought! I seem to get MORE freaked out the older i get, no idea why. I've flown a bunch of times, you'd think I'd get over it. lol -

A good reason for insurance companies to make this so difficult. I can't believe you'd have surgery without thinking it through FIRST. -
My ultimate goal is to run a marathon. But as I've never run further than the end of the driveway, and right now I'm so out of shape that I can't even get up and down the stairs without gasping for breath, I don't know how realistic that is. Or where to start.

I'm not sure I'd even ask. I'm the one with the problem, I don't feel as though they need to accommodate me. I make the decision if I want to pay X for a meal or not.

Oh whew! I thought you were going to say it got bumped BACK.

The fat demon has too many calories! Don't do it!

I hear y'all. My first fill is next week. I just keep telling myself it's just one week, I can do this for one more week. I do have some restriction, luckily, but I still bet I could put some food away if I tried. LOL. I've been trying to get as much protein as I can to stave off the hungries!!

29Feb - losingjusme's plastics day
Angie4b1g replied to losingjusme's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Have you tried taking half a dose of the liquid meds? I took 1/3 after my banding (I know that's not as painful an ordeal, so I'm not trying to compare them...). The full dose knocked me out, 1/3 was just enough to take the edge off the pain but I was still able to function. -
I definitely need one today, I'm in! My 8 year old daughter got not good news at the dr yesterday, my 3 year old son is not having a good time of it either, and my dh just backed out of the garage in my 1 month old van with the hatch open. Not a good week so far.

I have the AP band. I don't know that there is THAT much difference from one to another.

Ok so I've only been on the treadmill once. But I did get plenty of workout last night after my basement flooded. :rolleyes2:

I guess it wasn't THAT bad. At least not if you compare it to my old eating habits. I took my daughter to the doctor and the news was NOT NOT good, so we stopped on the way home for ice cream, and I joined her for some. I did make sure it didn't have anything crunchy... lol. Then we had pizza for dinner, and I had a slice. I didn't eat the crust, and I chewed the heck out of it, and it went down ok, and I was full after 1. But it's still not something I'm supposed to eat and I sure hope my band didn't fall off. Breakfast was 1 egg and one slice of ww toast, snack was CIB, for lunch I had a bean and black bean salsa burrito (well really a taco, they were the smaller shells). So, all told, I guess it wasn't THAT bad. :rolleyes2:

HELP! Started mushies today.....
Angie4b1g replied to texasgal2008's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't had any problems getting things down (although I haven't exactly tried anything too ambitious, either), but I still seem to fill up faster! I can be satisfied on 1 egg and 1 slice of toast. Before I'd have 3 eggs, 2 pieces of toast, pancakes and sausage at the breakfast place. LOL -
lol sorry!

What Does This Mean??
Angie4b1g replied to azchick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have this irrational fear that anything I eat outside of the guidelines my doctor gave me is going to slip my band, so it really hasn't been that hard for me. Fear is a great motivator. LOL -
Did You See A Cardiologist?
Angie4b1g replied to dpj00024's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had an EKG as part of my preop testing, but the 3 seconds of that came back normal, and that was that.
