My daughter is 5. I explained to her everything that I was doing and the reasons why. I don't think it would be traumatic for them at all. It would probably worry them more not to see you because it will be out of the norm for them. You will be sleepy from the anesthesia, but you will be able to see them for a bit. My daughter went to the hospital, and was with me after I went home. I think they will be fine. They will be curious but fine. I think it will be comforting for you as well.

Good morning! Please don't get discouraged. I had my surgery on 12/07/12. The doctor typically does not do a fill for the first 4 to 6 weeks. I also felt that I was able to eat much more than I thought I would be able to. Between surgery and the first fill I lost 13 pounds. When I had the first fill I only lost 3 and was discouraged. I went in last week for my second fill and am already down four more pounds. I know that he put a fill in this time. I do not get hungry between meals and I eat very little. I try to be very strict on myself to be compliant with my lifestyle change. It can be hard. I have slipped and cheated a time or two but for the most part I stay on track. Just remember if you slip just pick yourself back up and keep moving forward. Hang in there, the change is coming!

Are Any of you from the Saint Marys Ga, Fernandina beach, or Jacksonville Fl area? I would like to make new friends, and it helps to have people in my life that are going through these lifestyle changes as well.

I am going in today for my first fill. I am 4 weeks post op. I am down only 3 pounds since my 1 week post op but lost 13 in the one week post op visit. Is this normal? I cheated just a little thru the holidays, but didnt have the room to cheat a lot. I also had plication with my band. I hope after the first fill I will see more success. Any suggestions from those that have had theirs longer?

Thanks for all of the advice. My appt. Went well and my doctor said I was doing just fine. I feared the fill, and it did not bother me at all. I look forward to the road ahead. I thank you all for showing your support and letting me know that I am not alone!
