I dont know about everyone else and i am new to this but my nutritionist told me that because of the surgery I should be taking twice the recommended vitamin dose. So if the bottle says two a day, I should take 4. Anyone else hear that?

I have been fluctuating with these same three pounds for a couple of weeks. I am ready to see the scale move too. I should get my first fill on 2/5 (six weeks out) but I am seeing that the first one is not too much help. It still amazes me how every doctor/ experience is different amongst us. -

I know- crazy question. I was banded on 12/19/12 and I often ask myself if I am really banded. I know it sounds strange but I have not had a fill so I don't have much restriction. To quote some of you, I am going off of want power right now. I feel like I can eat a larger portion than what is on my plate. I feel like I get hungry a lot quicker than I used to. I don't have a problem getting anything down, or have the symptoms most of you have with your banded lifestyles. I actually told my husband that I really don't feel any different. Is it just me? I am slowly losing and I don't have a problem with that. I am happy to be losing at all. I cut my calories/portions back in October so I have been losing since before I was banded. I am scheduled for a fill on Feb. 5th. Hopefully then I will feel like there is a tool inside me and not just my want to lose. Thank you for listening to me vent.

A fried of mine who was banded after me was told not to worry about portion size, but to eat until she was full. Did any of you hear that? -

I am so glad to know that I am not the only one who is having trouble. I have been trying to be good but it is getting harder and harder. I keep trying to tell myself to focus on the bigger picture. Is it just me but it seems there are a lot of posts here recently from people who did not have success with the band. My sister's friend did not have luck and converted to the sleeve. I told my husband that I would love to lose more, and I will lose more, but right now I am going to enjoy this 40 pounds I lost since the beginning of this process. It's already like having a new lease in life. I have set my first mini goal that is doable but I am not setting a timeframe. I am fine with the gradual loss. I thank you all for sharing your stories. They help me know I ambit alone.

That's your sister. I came across her blog before I joined this forum. Both of you have had an amazing journey I take it. It's good that you have had each other to lean on.

You should see some of the replies in the December Bandwagon Supporters thread. We are All going through this. I was banded December 19th. I even posted that I may have the placebo band. LOL you are not alone. Several of us are going through this phase. Please don't get discouraged. We are all in this together. -

Melissa, just to give you something else to think about. Like Tara I am definitely not a know it all and I am suffering just like you are with no restriction. I know if I lose too much weight my dr won't give me a fill when I go back because he will think I am doing good enough with minimal restriction. I would hate for you to go on liquids and lose weight and your dr not give you a fill. Of course the decision is your but just be careful. This process is different for everyBODY but it looks like we are all in the same boat right now. I am not happy with the amount I can eat but I am trying not to overdo it. -

12/19/12-1/19/13 One month down! How are you all feeling, December Bandsters?! Aside from some other health issues, so far so good. I am suffering through what is known as Bandster Hell. I put a post up in the general forum that I feel like I have a placebo. LOL I have been trying to do the right thing and follow dr/nut orders. Hope all is going well with you all. -
How Soon After Banding
naturallyjai replied to Krystle Austin's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
My doctor says to wait a year. My husband and I have been trying since 2010. I am 31 and my husband is 34. We tried fertility treatments 2011- early 2012. After several tests and doctor visits and cash we still don't have children. When this lap band procedure fell in my lap I could not pass it up as this may be what we need to succeed. Maybe it's a sign saying "Noooo don't do it!" LOL But we both love kids. We know it will happen in Gods time. -
I have seen the dreaded 'Bandster Hell' since I have been on this forum and I alway assumed it was either TE person dealing with head hunger or just the fact you are hungry in general. I never imagined it was you can be hungry and you CAN still eat. I assumed once again, the pouch would be formed and you automatically began to limit your intake as the band itself (even with no fill) is there. Kinda like cutting off your circulation if something is too tight around your finger. I even asked my hubby if he thought I was in a placebo group. LOL

My co-workers have called me droopy bottom because of my baggy pants. One of my employees called me the incredibly shrinking woman today. (We have a very relaxed work environment.) Everyone is so proud of me though. My legs and butt area are baggy. They say they can see a difference in my face too. I don't see it but I can tell the difference in my jeans. Like you guys I am just waiting on the belly to start going down. LOL

3 weeks post op
naturallyjai replied to aprilmmason's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with everyone. I was banded on 12/19. I am in Bandster Hell. I find myself wanting to eat and snack more and more. I drink a protein shake for breakfast. Light lunch. Then sensible dinner. Trying to get 60-80 grams of protein and 64 oz of water a day. My nut did not specify calories so I am staying under 1200. I am very happy to have MFP helping me count along the way. First fill is scheduled for 12/5. I am steadily losing (even ounces count-lol) but I find myself wanting to eat more. My co-workers think its funny because I would go all day without eating before I was banded. Now I am jetting out of the door at lunch. LOL just wanted to weigh in and let you all know that you are not alone. We are all in this boat together. It will get better for each of us. This is a marathon- not a sprint. It will take time but we can do this! -

What's Your Daily Calorie Goal?
naturallyjai posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nutritional guide does not recommend a specific number for my daily calorie intake. I have 1200 set in MFP now. How many are you trying to take in? -
I have not attended any meetings. I was banded I Gonzales but I live in BR. Not sure why you would need an insurance card though. They have meetings at Women's and St. Elizabeth's and I was thinking about attending one this month.
