Has anyone else tried the Whole30 My wife and I have completed it twice. After the program we found out that my wife has a wheat intolerance and I am lactose intolerant. I'm wondering if anyone else with a band has tried it and what your experience was. If you are interested I'll place a link at the bottom, it's a very strict program but I can't tell you how amazing I felt at the end of it. http://whole9life.com/category/whole-30/

Has anyone else become overly sensitive to caffeine after being banded? I didn't have a problem before the band but recently I have found myself very sensitive to coffee and other drinks with caffeine, it's gotten especially bad after my last fill. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar.

I've been banded for about 9 months and have recently hit a plateau. One of my problems recently has been eating even if I'm not hungry. Mostly it's at certain times when my brain thinks I'm supposed to be eating. More specifically at night when I'm cooking dinner for my family I think I have to eat even if I'm not hungry at all. What are some ways you guys have found to avoid eating at times when your brain is telling you that you are scheduled to eat even if you aren't hungry? Hopefully that makes sense.

My wife and I tried those once, I got a little worried though that they add artificial flavoring to it, but if it helps someone who normally wouldn't eat fruit it's probably good right?

I've had the opposite problem, but I'm only 29 and shouldn't have those types of issues. I've also been on testosterone therapy for a few years. Losing 75 lbs from my heaviest has been good for the libido. Hope you get yours figured out.

I thought it would be interesting to know the types of foods that give others problems. For me personally I can not eat any type of sandwich, the odd part is I can eat bread just fine but put something between it and it doesn't go down. Other foods that my doc said may cause problems I can eat without issue. I also find the order that I eat my food plays a part in digestion. If I eat my protein first I don't seem to have problems but if I start with something else and go back to the meat it doesn't go down as well.

My wife and I are big into Paleo, my MMA gym got me interested about 2 years ago. We are currently on our second round of the Whole30. With the band of course I lose weight faster but my wife has had good weight loss with the diet and exercise. I have looked into crossfit gyms but they all seem to be really expensive My coach at the mma gym runs us through some crossfit wod 's occasionally and I think they are some of the hardest workouts I have ever done.

Congrats! That is a great accomplishment!

I'll have to check out that site, I usually go with Under Armour but I feel that they are really expensive for what you get. That said they do the job and are very comfortable. I look forward to the time when I don't have to find specialty sizes for my clothes.

I'm about 3 months out and I hardly notice mine anymore. I asked my nurse today if that was normal, she said that I had a new slimmer port and that I really shouldn't feel it unless it gets hit directly or after a fill.

Happy to report that I went back to grappling sports after my doctor gave me the green light, I have been training a couple of times a week for a month and half and I feel great. Even when I had a 250 lbs man with his knee on top of my port I didn't feel a thing. I do get a little bit of pain after training but it usually goes away after a couple of hours. Hopefully that is the case for others who would like to participate in similar contact sports.

I started following this thread before I had my surgery. One of my biggest concerns has always been how the port would be affected by contact sports. Every doctor I talked to said it should be fine but I wanted to hear real world experiences. I'm glad to hear that you were able to go back to BJJ. I have been practicing and competing for about 5 years in both BJJ and Muay Thai. I just had my band placed 4 weeks ago and am looking forward to getting back in the gym.
