    Treadmill or elliptical?

I bought an elliptical and it just sat in the garage, lol. I'm a gym person for sure. They have an infomerical on TV for a tredclimber which is a combo of both elliptical and tredmill. Maybe look into that?

    Recovery

Well I got laid off one week before my surgery but I was planning on two weeks. If I still had a job I would say I would be able to go back probly yesterday so 4 days. I'm still sore but its not unbearable. I heard the port incision can remain tender for up to a month.
  3. Not a problem!! Keep us posted!
  4. Hey!! You look relatively young! I'm 24 so its nice to see younger people on here I didn't have a pre-op diet because my surgeon doesn't believe it them haha so not too much info on that. Here is a rundown on my surgery expirience though! I was banded on Sept 17th (5 days ago) and today I feel GREAT, just tired (see other posts haha) I was on this site non stop the moment I got my surgery date. When they say everyone is different please believe it! My surgery was a breeze, really. I was a mess with nerves but it all went smooth. I arrived at the hospital at 8:30 and was in surgery around 12:30. I woke up in recovery around 1:30-2:00 in pain due to gas but they still gave me pain meds and oxygen and I felt better. I was scheduled as outpatient but due to the pain meds they gave me they wanted to make sure I could get liquids down without vomiting so I ended up staying until 6:30PM. 5 days out I am fighting hunger A LOT being on liquids. At first I thought it might be "head hunger" which is a common term around here but I'm actually feeling hunger pains. I'm sipping Protein (By the way, Isopure mixed with crystal light is delicious!) and broths and it ususally goes away for a couple of hours but I can't wait to get some substance in my life! My post op is tomorrow and I'm hoping she adds a few things to the list. I'm feeling good about things but its different. I do notice I am feeling satisfied on either 1/2-1cup of liquids for a couple of hours at a time which is insane. My head has to catch up lol. Good luck! The people on this forum are amazing!

    Tired

Excuse my typos, autocorrect has a mind of its own!
  6. Still kind of sore but OMG I feel sooooo much better. I'm able to kick the pain meds and use liquid Tylenol. I'm not gonna lie I'm ready for Mushies cuz I am starving!!!! I'm not cheating though.
  7. Earlier I drank some broth and I must've done it too fast?? I felt fine (not really satisfied as the liquids haven't satisfied me at all!!) until I was done but now I feel so full!!! It hasn't gone away for 3 hours but my stomach is growling and I have hunger pains?

    3 days post op

I've been hungry the entire time! Only time I'm ok is if I drink some Isopure, but it comes back shortly after.
  10. This was me to a T!! Id never had surgery before this and was freaking out! I asked the anesthesiologist for some relaxers but I couldn't have them because I had to be "me" when signing consents and such. I was given some via IV as soon as I was wheeled into the OR. As soon as I got the relaxers they put the mask on me and I was out. I doubt I lasted a minute LOL.
  11. Before surgery I tried a few and new which ones I'd use but now 2 days post op I mix one up and I can't bare to finish it. Tastes gross... I'm so tired and sore and this gas pain in my shoulder is annoying the crap out of me. I am living off of maybe 3/4 cups of protein shake a day and then jello, crystal light, and Popsicles will I be ok?

    Is this normal pre-op?

No pre-op diet though, just soft foods 24 hours prior and nothing after midnight the day before surgery. Things are different with each surgeon and insurance group.

    Is this normal pre-op?

I had 6 months of diet classes(couldn't miss one), 2 visits with psychologist, 3 visits with physical therapist, 1 diet class with surgeon and 1 nutrition class with surgeon.
  14. Alpine Punch, Blue Raspberry, Pineapple Orange Banana, & Mango Peach. Raspberry was good but not delicious but MUCH better than anything I've tried so far.
  15. I got a few different flavors but I will definitely try your suggestion tomorrow!
  16. I just went to GNC and got Isopure. LIFE CHANGER. Tastes like juice (slight after taste but totally worth it for getting in the protein!)
