I would call your insurance company. For me I had a 6 month waiting period and I completed all the requirements during that time. Your surgeon may have his or her own requirements in addition. Everyone is different. Good luck!

Never heard of them. Thanks!

You look great!!! I find myself confused on what I want my goal to be. I've always been thicker and so I thought 180, BUT that would mean 80 or so more pounds and I think losing 80 from what I am/look like now I'd be a skeleton!

No nail polish day of surgery...
LapbandLo replied to melanndoll's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon said nothing about it. I went in with pedicured toes and manicured nails lol. -
Thanks! I have a heart rate monitor and I always wear that when I exercise but it seems cool to have one that shows 24 hour numbers.

Anyone have any reviews on it?

I rarely get sugar cravings but I have been wanting a reece's peanut butter cup for a couple of weeks now. Since the craving didn't go away I had two mini Reece's cups from the small bin at a Halloween store. It was the perfect amount to curb the craving and it was less than 100 calories. Just add to your daily caloric intake and always do sweets in moderation

New pants today! I went from a size 24w to 18w in a month and one week. I almost cried in the dressing room.

Pre Op diet...
LapbandLo replied to newlifebeginswithme's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try GNC total lean. Delicious and no after taste! I find that when I make my own they are worse then when I just buy them pre-made -
You look great!!!

I honestly have been incredibly faithful with my diet and water and protein. I also walk 2-3 miles a day. I don't feel cheated or deprived just happy!

LapBand Bound Jan. 2014
LapbandLo replied to BLK Velvet's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Velvet I'm sorry to hear you don't have much support from home. I'm a little over a month out and I'm already 100% positive this is the best thing I've done for myself! Keep reading and do your research to determine if this is the right thing for you. It took me 2 1/2 years total from figuring that out, to insurance requirements, and pre-op stuff but when you're ready it's the best feeling! The Lapband talk community is an awesome place to read, ask questions, and meet new people all going through the same thing. I wish you well. -Lauren -
I'm Curious as to Why....
LapbandLo replied to B-52's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think most of us are capable to lose weight. Were all professional dieters. The problem is we do it over and over and over again only to gain all the weight back plus some. The band is a tool that helps keep it off. At least that's what I have read the most being a new bandster and all. I'm hoping this is the last time I'll ever see these numbers! -
I was barely doing 2 blocks on day 4 haha. Maybe take a rest day? Nothing wrong with it!

I noticed the first 3 weeks all of it in my face. Now I finally see it in my waist and legs. Haven't had a fill so can't answer that part.

GNC total lean is really good! I've tried chocolate, vanilla, and pumpkin spice. Curious to try strawberry.

Yes!!!!! I had a mini sip of sprite last night. Holy crap, sugar overload and that carbonation was almost disgusting. Thank god I didn't take a real sip lol!
