FITNESS PAL IS AMAZING! If you use the photo option you can scan the item and choose what serving size you ate. If you're off 5-10 calories big whoop better than being completely in the dark! -
BCBS Federal Requirements for Lap Band
LapbandLo replied to BigOBoy123's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have BC of CA and I have a 6 month plan including once a month meeting to weigh in 3 physical therapy visits, 2 or 3 nutrition visits, and 2 or 3 psychiatry visits. I'm entering into month two and it sucks cuz I'm ready but hopefully things will move quick! -
Did anyone have a problem with pop/soda?
LapbandLo replied to leannel90's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You can do it! My surgery is not til mid August early September and I'm already almost 30 days clean of diet drinks. The carbonation is an addiction and it's hard but it's mind over matter which I'm sure this whole process is! -
I have my first visit for PT today as part of my 6 month pre-op. What should I expect?
-
Nope I'm healthy other than my weight!
-
Ok so I went in and it's 1 of 3 appointments. They just test you basically how many sit ups, wall push ups, stretches, etc you can do within a one minute period. The goal is to improve in each visit.

Anyone Getting Banded In September?
LapbandLo replied to millsy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I believe I will be banded late August early September. I started my 6 month program this month and by the time insurance accepts it all I imagine it will be late July early August. -

Starts tomorrow! I hope this goes by quick! I'm SO ready for my journey to begin! I'm ready to keep moving forward instead of stalling and falling back! My anticipated surgery date is late July/mid August. Ahhhhhh!

Wow ok! I was reading somewhere else, though I forget where and they said at least a gallon. 64oz works for me because I get so busy it's hard to drink water let alone drink anything!
-
Starting today my goal is a gallon of water a day. Is that realistic once banded?

1. Seminar - DONE 2. Referral from my doctor - DONE 3. Consultation - January 31st 4. Just informed that my insurance requires 6 months of weight check ups recorded with my primary doctor. I WANT TO CRY. I've done this my whole life. I can lose the weight. I know how to diet and eat healthy but I'm still missing the tool that helps with the rest! I'm going to do it and I have my head in the right positive place but I just hope I don't get discouraged.

I went to my Lapband seminar tonight. I am PUMPED to get the process started )) I should be getting a call from the office within 2-4 days for my consultation!!!
-
Thanks everyone! I didn't think of it that way. I'm gonna head back to the gym, start on more Water consumptions and research Protein shakes

The process was hard or the actual band? I expect both
-
I'm not a huge drinker but I usually have a beer if I'm in a social setting. Is that off limits forever once I'm banded? I know it's not recommended but would it kill me?
-
Tell me too! Same with diet Pepsi. That is gonna be so hard to give up forever :/ I figure high amounts of moderation and things should be ok right?
