My surgery is in 10 days and I don't know what's gotten into me.... Maybe it's all mental knowing that I wont be eating these things again in the near future but the last few days I've found myself making not so good choices. Normally I'm sensible and have been for the last year or two..minus portion sizes(biggest problem) Anyway, my boyfriend and I are in Reno,NV this weekend and I had an avocado burger for lunch. I am in absolute agony.. Been laying in bed with stomach cramps and feeling like I want to puke. My weekend feels wasted... Why did I do that!?

Thank you everyone for the replies and support! I going through a WHIRLWIND of emotions right now. As far as pre-op diet..... I don't have one. My surgeon never mentioned it. I have an appt on Thursday for a Tuesday surgery so maybe I will have one for a couple of days but nothing like some of you guys with the 2-4 week ones.

I'm not sure what the reason was.. It was never even mentioned. I think i just have to not eat 12 hours prior to surgery. I'm thinking cuz I'm young and BMI under 50?

SEPTEMBER 17TH!!! Two weeks. They called me today!! YAY! I'm ecstatic. Nerves will probly start tomorrow, lol.

I'm so anxious and excited I can hardly stand it. Im ready to start the journey to my new life. Tonight I went out to a Mexican restaurant kind of as a last hoorah but the whole time I was just thinking "I can't wait to be banded"

Funny..... The hospital called me shortly after I posted this. They said according to my insurance and benefits I'm looking about $2500. My job has a program that pays 20% of any out of pocket so that's about $500 Not so bad I guess....$2000. Looks like I'm applying for another credit card tonight lol.

Good idea, I will try that! The surgeons office called me and said they received prior authorization for surgery, but they didn't mention one thing about costs. I've seen the surgeon 3 times now. I kind of thought they would have mentioned it"(additional out of pocket) by now to prepare me.

Mine's Blue Shield of CA which from my understanding is not affiliated with Blue Cross Blue Shield. I have an H M O and a specific Medical Group(Mercy) and everything I've done has been with Mercy contracted doctors, psychiatrists, nutritionists, & physical therapists. I've had a $40 co-pay for almost all visits.... I did try calling the insurance company but none of the reps seemed to give me the info I need. I feel more comfortable speaking to my surgeon about costs/financing so I'm going to ask on Tuesday.

OMG, I hope so.. I don't have $6,000..... not anywhere close to it and my Care Credit limit is barely $2k... I have 3 appointments next week with my surgeons office. I'm going to ask them and I PRAY that it's covered or less than 1k out of pocket.

I bought one yesterday. I bought tons of fruit and veggies and have been whipping up different things. Question... My surgery is 9/17 .. Once I'm done with the post op eating requirements would smoothies be a good source or nutrition and what would a smoothie serving size be?

Tomorrow I have to have blood work to check how fast I bleed (odd..never heard of that) and a chest X-ray. Then Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thurs all pre-op stuff. Then a week to relax and then surgery!!! No pre-op diet for me woooooo hooooo!!!!!!

Meeeeeeeeeee! I was told yesterday that my date is Sept 17th!

I have to meet with my surgeon and her dietician one time on Sept 10th/11th and then I will be DONE will all pre-reqs. My surgeon said at this point I will be looking at any time in October maybe end of Sept. Ahhhh!!!!

Is my appointment with my surgeon! I was told we are going to discuss the next step (hopefully surgery) since I just finished my 6 month insurance required visits!

I'm approved by my surgeon!!! She said by the end of this week she will have my insurance approval letter written to my insurance company. That usually takes 2 weeks or so, but I do I have to attend a diet class and a dietician program (required for all of her patients regardless of what any insurance requirements are) on sept 10th/11th. Once those are done I'll get a date! She said at this point any time in October looks promising!! YAYYYYYYY!!!!!
