I had lap band with a partial placation on 12/30/2011. It was a slow process but the weight was starting to come off. Then i had complications about a year into the process. After moving and finding a new doctor, I found that my Lapband was positioned too high. So with having 6 cc's in a 10 cc band it wasn't creating a "pouch" it was just closing off part of my esophagus. My doctor also found other things wrong and we decided to go with the Gastric Sleeve revision. I started the process with an EDG scope on September 28, 2013. I did a sleep study the beginning of October and a stress test November 15th. The insurance called back and said i needed a psych eval and a nut appointment. I had my psych eval on the 19th of November and my nut appointment the 20th of November. They submitted the paperwork on the 21st of November and I was approved for surgery the 25th of November. My surgery date was December 4th! This has been a challenging process with weight loss but it has taught me a lot. Some times the tools don't always work and you need a new one. Just don't give up hope!
