    New Years Resolution

    As a Russian...New Years is something I take seriously. It's like our version of Christmas, and I absolutely love it. With that-comes resolutions. For the past ten years, my resoultions have come.and gone..mainly unfulfilled. This year..I realized, I'm a few months early I got banded on10/16, am already -50lbs down...and basically on my way to a hopeful resolution of losing weight. Si with quite an early greeting, I'd like to wish you all strength to pursuit your resolutions and.holiday wishes!

    something awful

    Last night...I did something awful. I had a little too much to drink and smoked weed mixed with tobacco. I haven't done that in God knows how long...but I got sick (from the weed), and puked several times. After (&now), I feel fine..but I heard puking with a Lapland is the most dangerous thing you can do. Has this ever happened to you? Will I be okay?

    Hi guys, As of Tuesday, I'll be 8 weeks out (no fills yet). I'm planning on traveling to FL on the 20th (about a 3hr flight). My doc said no problem, and suggested being on all liquids the day of and return. Just wondering if anyone has any flight experience so early, and suggestions Thanks!

    healthififying the holidays?

    Thanks all. I had one latke, and made sure to squeeze all the extra oil etc. I also paired it with a bit of veggies, and made this my most caloric part of the day. Also making sure to drink Water til the end of today. Happy Holidays!
  11. Hi all As a Jew, my holiday season starts tonight, though I too have plenty of holiday parties to conquer. I was banded 10/16/12 (starting 265, day of surgery 251, today 225) and haven't been filled, so I'm extra cautious and trying to stay on track. Does anyone know the myth behind sweet potatoes? Are they really better/healthier then regular ones? I stuck to them at Thanksgiving (vs regular), but in general...I'm wondering. As far as other holiday parties, I'm careful with what I eat and the fried goodnesses of Hanukkah I will bake, but again...the potato myth-anyone?

    Wow, thanks everyone. I was so afraid of answers that would be scary. I started my excercise mission today by parking at the furthest lot on campus. It's a 12min walk up hill (the entire way), plus a flight of stairs from my car to my seat in class. It kind of sucked having EVERYONE pass me, but I'll get there. Now I know why everyone is so skinny on campus, ha. Lots of love & best of luck to all!
  15. Hi everyone, I was banded 10/16/12(53 days ago). My starting weight was 265.2, and day of surgery was 250.8. I weighed in at day 49, and I'm 43lbs down., and no fill yet. I'm ECSTATIC but, a little worried. I do what I'm suppose to (1cup of food per meal, everything healthy, not feeling hungry etc), except my working out is lagging. I think I've put in 3 full fledged workouts, some I did half assed, and I don't get enough Water..probably around 30-40oz day. Before you go criticizing, I know I'm not doing things right...but I'm wondering... what are the effects of what I'm doing? Will my band slip? Will I hurt myself? I have an issue following routine..but I'm going to try hard. Thoughts/comments?
