I had a fill about a month ago and have been doing fine with most foods. Today on the other hand is not going so well, I literally can't eat anything! I'm thinking about going back to liquids cause I can't even get mushy foods to pass. Any suggestions?

Can't eat anything today...!

Thanks TMF, I think you are right! Between some poor food choices and the holidays. It might just be catching up with me! -
My doctor tells me that beer or pop is fine in moderation. She just said with beer it is calories that we dont "need" and diet pop makes you more hungry because of the artificial sweetener...

Hi everyone! I was banded 5/25/09. I did really well the first year with no fills. I lost about 50 lbs...since then I was not all that dedicated. between deployments and being a single mom for a year and life just happening, I gained some back. I went in last week for a fill and finally feel like I'm back on track! My doctor suggested support groups, but I figured I would try this too and so far I'm loving all of the support on here! I'm also on my fitness pal if anyone would care to add me. I'm flinty35 on there.

Getting back into this...!
Lapbandmistie replied to Lapbandmistie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I went in and got my band filled up to 5cc. After the fill I just started over, kind of. I did clear liquids for 2 days and then did soft foods again for a few days. The thing that is helping me the most is just slowing down and listening to my band. I've also scheduled monthly visits with my doctor to hold me more accountable. Good luck! Are you on my fitness pal? Add me if you are, I'm flinty35. -
I have entered a world of constipation

My doctor suggests benefiber twice a day. you can't even notice a taste difference if you add it in while you are cooking your meals, or even just mix in a tsp. With your coffee or tea. Works pretty good for me. Only occasionally do I need to use stool softeners when I stick to benefiber! -
I am 3 years post op and I'm the first to admit, that until recently I didn't have anything done with my band. I initially lost the weight, and now 3 years later it coming back on. I had my band filled to 5 cc and for the first time in 3 years I feel like YES, I finally get what this is suppose to be like! My suggestion would be to see your doctor regularly (once a month, until you have your ahhh haa moment!) to find your green zone and eat more protein!

Why not insurance approval prior?
Lapbandmistie replied to oklafarmgal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In My experience, the insurance would not even take the paperwork for consideration of the surgery until all of the pre-op stuff was complete. Those tests, etc is what they base their decision off of. I went through 3 insurance companies before I got approved...let me tell you, it was an emotional process! -

I have never had problems with rice, but with pasta and bread they seem to get stuck which then leads to the awful "sliming" and for me it feels like awful chest pain. I just stay away from them because it's not worth the trouble for me!

Doctor is going slow
Lapbandmistie replied to danielle1992's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In my experience, my doctor does things the same way. Go in every month for a slight adjustment and see how it goes. And yes, they draw all the fluid out of the band and then right back in with the new fluid. My understanding for this is so they can make your band isn't leaking. It is a process and I agree it can be frustrating but I know my doctor truely cares and wants to see me succeed, for me the monthly visits get to be a bit much, but on the other hand it helps me to be accountable for whats going on! Good luck!
