    Insurance reversal

Military members can't sue but dependents can...with that said, it would definitely be a long, tough road ahead suing the government...So glad you are on your way to having a new doctor.....I wish you well!
  2. Can you call your doc and get a script for anti nausea meds? Narcotics make me nauseous too so I was given anti nausea meds that dissolve on your tongue.....Liquid tylenol is also an option but I would check with your doctor first....Congrats on your surgery and best wishes

    10 month post op

    You look fabulous!!
  6. 2 weeks liquids, 2 weeks mushies, then solids..I was told by my surgeon that you need the time to let your stomach heal...the stomach processing solid food too early could break the stitches around the band....this is what I was told...I would definitely get some clarification from your doctors office..

    Weaning of caffeine

I never was a soda drinker and I used to only have one cup of coffee a day which I loved but ever since my banding I can't stand the taste of coffee..I've tried regular, decaf, mixed all kinds of sugar free stuff and still don't like it.....but being British, I do still like my cup of tea!

  16. Banded Dec 17th, down 29 lbs since surgery day...first fill was this past Wednesday...I've heard so many say that this is just another diet until you reach restriction and that is so true... we must rely on ourselves to stick to our portions...I know it's hard but we can all do it..Stay strong banders!!

    Abdominoplasty scheduled 2-5-13

I had my tummy done at Nellis AFB in 2009...I was only really "down" for about 5 days. I had a pain pump attached and percocet also...still, laughing and sneezing was no fun! My youngest daughter was 3 1/2 at the time, so I hear you about your son, but she was awesome and we just played, watched movies and colored on my bed...The most difficult thing was the sleeping for me, my muscles were so tight I couldn't lay flat for a few weeks, I propped my lower legs on pillows and did just fine. Showering wasn't too bad, the first time my husband held my drains ( I had 2) while I showered, from then on he fashioned a hook out of a hanger and I hung them up when I showered! I loved my binder and I kept it on for about 2 1/2 weeks. My husband was awesome during the whole recovery process, he emptied and measured my drainage, yuck! and he held my hand when they pulled out my drains, ouch!...You'll do great!! Like Floridays said your doctor may do things different...I wish you well!!

    giving up

Carla, there is no form that I know of... I went to my doctor on base and told him I needed 6 months of supervised diet and exercise..he documented my weight that day, what I was eating and what exercise I was doing..I did the same thing for the next 5 months...I'm almost certain there is no form...can I ask where you heard this from?

    banded january 18th 2013

Gas-x never worked for me..the only thing that helped with that horrible gas pain in my shoulder was my heating pad...it was my best friend for about a week and when I left the house I took a hot water bottle with me! Walking always made my pain worse but I did it every hour on the hour while I was awake anyway....it took around 8 days before I put my heating pad down. I hope your pain eases up soon. Congrats on your banding and happy healing!!

    No Exercise

I loath exercise when I'm big, lets face it, it hurts and for us women we have a few things bouncing all over the place, but a few years ago when I lost 150 lbs and weighed 150, I loved it...I ran 5 miles a day with my husband...for me it's all about how comfortable I am doing it. Right now I walk 7 days a week with my dog, we both need it and it's good for both of us, we walk for about 40 minutes at a brisk pace and it's good enough for us...but I will be back to running when I can keep up with my husband..about 100 lbs from now!

    Favorite cheese?

OMG, I love me some cheese! All kinds!....I have every flavor of the laughing cow wedges and I love the babybells. I buy string cheese for my kids....then I hide them, so they can't eat them all before I get to them....Like CG I love sharp cheddar, I used to buy a 1 lb block and it would be gone in 2 days....now I want me some cheese!

    A bit confused....

I agree...a supportive, knowledgeable, understanding surgeon, nutritionist and nursing staff will make a huge difference in your journey. They need to be able to answer all your questions and give you all the info and advice you need to succeed....I wish you the very best!
