    Marchies in September!!

Hi I had my surgery on March 19, 2007. I love my band but wish I was losing faster. I have lost 30 lbs ( lowest I have been in 4 Years, so that is great!) I have had three fills so I am at 2.8 now. I can eat most anything, have had a few PB situations when I didn't chew well enough or tried to eat cold chicken or lamb from the refrigerator. I am eating about 1200 calories a day and working out at the gym 5 hours a week. I would love to have any suggestions for quicker weight loss.
  4. Hi Mike, Is what you had the same as esophageal spasms ? I got a frantic call from a friend who is on a cruise in Europe. He keeps pb ing and is in pain. The doc on the ship said it was esophageal spasms and told him to leave the ship and fly back to the U.S. I gave him his lapband doc phone number so he will talk to him soon. But I was just curious if it might be what you are dealing with.
  5. You both look great! You give me hope and inspiration!

    restaurant portions

I like calorieking.com. It has most of the restaurants and their menus listed.
  8. I eat everything and have only had something get stuck twice. Both times, it was when I was in a hurry, not thinking, hungry, and standing at the sink gobbling down a big bite of tuna and cottage cheese. It was because 1- I took too big of a bite, 2 - I didn't chew. I eat tuna and cottage cheese all the time and only had problems on those two occasions.

    salads

I eat salads. I am careful and take small bites and chew very well, so I have never had a problem. If something is stringy and doesn't chew up well (celery), I put it aside on my plate. Be sure to have protein be a major part of your salad so you are getting the nutrition you need.

    post op diet

Hi Berry, I had my surgery on the same day you did. I am feeling the same.. Protein drinks really help the hunger. I am realling needing different flavors. not sweet. I have tried some blenderized soups... they help too..

    Frustrated

Hi X-ray Chic, I was banded on March 19th. My doctor gave me a menu saying to follow the clear liquids for a few days and then try to start regular liquids-- things that can run off a spoon such as blenderized soup, creamed soup made with nonfat or 1% milk, protein supplement drink, thinned cream of wheat cereal, thinned mashed potatoes, thinned sugar free pudding, thinned sugar free yogurt, sugar free popsicles. The different flavors in the soups have really helped me. We can do this !!
  13. I will add him to my prayers that he feels much better very soon. Cheryl

    Tomorrow is my day!

Hi Everyone ! Tomorrow is my day too! at 9:00 am. I am a little nervous... I have gone to meetings, read lots of material but still wonder if I know what I am doing. I am sure I will be asking a lot of questions soon. First one, What did you "drink" in that first week post surgery? What was most helpful to you?
