I'm glad this thread was started. So my bariatric team tells me to take 2 multi Vitamins a day, 2 calcium citrate a day, 1 b12 a day , 1 Iron a day and one Vitamin D once a week. I go to see my internal medicine primary doctor (not surgeon office) and she tells me that I only need 1 multi, no calcium the rest is the same. I'm confused. My gut tells me to do what the bariatric team told me to do, but I trust my doctor and she will be the one looking at my labs going forward. I certainly don't want to develop deficiencies, but I don't want to take a bunch of vitamins if I don't have too! Not to mention, you can't just take them all at the same time of the day either. I'm curious to know if your surgeon is requiring the same dosage of vitamins. Start weight 224, Surgery weight 205, Current weight 199

New job after weight loss
SueC1 replied to Amanda R's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't know. I know that I don't want to go to school anymore, but I would like to do something on the health/fitness field. I have a business management degree and I've been doing management type work with a title as Senior Technican and not management pay. I really am just at a point of my life that I want to enjoy life. I don't want to put long work hours, deal with a bunch of stress and not been happy. Start weight 224, Surgery weight 205, Current weight 199 -

New job after weight loss

I'm so looking for a new job after I get my weight off. I have a very stressful job. I've been doing the same thing with more and more responsibility for 14 years and I'm just tired of it. I dont know where I will end up, but I will be looking and applying. I have been telling my husband this for a while. I think he is a bit nervous because I make more then him an hour! Not gettting in all my protein or liquids:(

I'm not sure what Protein powders you have, but I would try and put some Protein powder in your food. I took chocolate snack pack pudding cup and put in 1/2 scoop of chocolate protein powder and mixed it up, it was sinfully good! And I got 12 grams of protein to boot. Good for you! My surgery was Tuesday and I came home yesterday. Like you the pain from the surgery wasn't bad either nor was the gas. What I did have was major low back pain. Laying flat for nearly 6 hours made my back go into a frenzy. I couldn't concentrate on nothing but the pain from my back after surgery. It is starting to go away from being home. The good news is I'm no longer on high blood pressure medicine. I am also not taking my diabetes meds as that has been controlled right now. I have to keep checking it though and need to discuss with my primary doctor. Hooray!!! -

So I had an emotional breakdown about this tonight. I was so upset that I couldn't find the right outfit for him to wear in first day of kindergarten that I just started crying my eyes out about not being here for him and not having the perfect outfit. I was a mess. This all came about after my 11 year told me she didn't want me to have the surgery because she was afraid I would die. I've been so strong through this whole process and I just let the tears flow. As I go to sleep tonight I pray to the good Lord that he watch over me and let me make it through this surgery. I can't leave my children. I'm not ready for that. Okay, enough if that before I start crying again. I've got to leave for the hospital in 5 1/2,hours. -

My mom was all for the surgery up until this last week, she is getting nervous and doesn't think it is a good idea. My dad and grandfather are totally against it. This is all because my aunt had the band and has good luck with it....so far. They don't understand why I have to do the rny. When I try and explain to them that they are not recommending the bad anymore, they don't get it because my aunt is doing fine still. Ugh! I just reassure them and tell them that I've decided on this type of surgery and everything will be fine. -

I've been on my liquid diet for 4 days at it is really hard at might. I'm starving around dinner time. I just at a 1/2 slice of breadstick and eat my sons pizza crust. I'm hoping this doesn't blow it? Anyone else in this boat? Or were you and what was the outcome? Did the surgeon cancel?

My shakes are 24 grams each, but only 100 calories each. They told me not to go over 100 of protein a day. That gives 4 shakes a day. With the low calorie chicken broth, sugar free popsicles and hello it is hard to push 450 calories a day.
