Day 3 of pre-op diet

Day 1-2-3 were the worst for me. Then after that my stomach stopped growling and I realized I wasn't that hungry....I think the big part of being hungry is in the head (head hunger) -
in 4 days!!! I'm so glad that the diet isn't as bad as I thought...I think the big part is "in the head"...once you got that under control, the rest comes naturally!

Is it me or it feels GREAT to make that ticker go down!! Total lost since beginning of this journey: 24lbs !

In one week for me too!!!!!!!!! As of right now, i'm not nervous, just excited! We are SO going to rock this!!!

Same for me also....but everybody is loosing 10-12-14 pounds it seems and for me, nothing!! I'm hoping i'll see the numbers go down after a week...And i do have a crappy scale (not digital) too so that might be the problem... -

Actually its a low fat diet for 12 days and 2 days prior to surgery I have a liquid diet. Apparently 2 days is enough to "clear" most solid from the bowels. -

My pre-op diet allows me anything with very low calories and/or a vegetable....in my mind a pickle fits in both categories. I had one yesterday and it got rid of my crunchy/salty cravings i get in the evenings...On another note, i'm on about 800-900 cal a day, for the past 3 days, and I havent seen the scale move at ALL!! I cut back on salt also. I'm wondering if its normal??? Does it take a couple days to kick in??? -

Ok, bought everything I need, tomorrow preparing food for my 2 week pre-op diet. This is the ONLY time i've been excited to go on a diet!!!

If you are in Canada (Province of Quebec), our health insurance covers it 100%, but the process is about 2 1/2 years. In my sitaution, the operation has been postpone many times over a period of 6 months so it brings me to 3 years total.

So i'm rescheduled for March 25th....starting the diet on monday. Thank god my diet is not too strict (as some of you). 3oz (x2) of low fat meats and unilimited veggies. No potatoes, corn or peas. Breakfast is 1egg+1egg-white and 1 piece of whole weat toast. I should survive! -

I know exactly how you feel. My doc called me yesterday to postpone my op yet again!!! i've been postponed since September. It is very discouraging. I just felt like crying all day yesterday. How many times are they going to put me through this?? I know everything happens for a reason so we have to stay positive through this tough time...
