March Surgery Dates
Gurlygirlrcr80 replied to Kathy Pitcher's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Yeah not everyone has to do bowel prep. It wasn't bad but it was helpful to not have to go for a few days after and it makes it a "cleaner" area for the drs to work but its all up to them if u do it. -

I had to drink 2 bottles of laxative the day before and I was expecting it to be terrible...it was nothing...I expected it to be like normal diarrhea when u cramp and feel sick....not the case at all...u just suddenly feel like u have to go, u go, and that's it...I was worried for no reason lol. Just don't leave the immediate vicinity of ur toilet lol -

Pre-op diet
Gurlygirlrcr80 replied to crazedteacher's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So basically take out the noodles? I'd be in for that. I love egg drop. I found a really great chicken broth that is like egg drop minus the sodium. It's called College Inn chicken broth and its really quite delicious!! I puréed spaghetti-o's yesterday and I loved it...It was nice to have something familiar and tasty -

I just got cleared to stage 2, full liquids and soft puréed foods with baby foods and blended stuff. I am definitely smaller but I'm still very swollen and my clothes got smaller with my pre op diet so I'm still enjoying that but in the next day or 2, at this rate, I should be below my pre surgery weight by Friday, which is 40lbs less than I was 8 weeks ago I am now 1 week post op and I'm still managing discomfort and gas but that is all so easy to deal with. So happy you are happy with your progress!! -
Does anyone regret having the surgery. If you do why
Gurlygirlrcr80 replied to marypip's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No regrets. It hurts but temporarily. I am happy I did it so far. I'm a week post op. -

Did anyone else get the silastic ring? Why or why not? I got it and my dr said they were the only place in Illinois that provide it. I'm very happy I got it personally. -
