  2. This is completely out of concern - please don't think I'm trying to be a know-it-all but I'm not for sure you fully understand how the band works. The band won't stop us from eating. It helps you feel satisfied. It doesn't truly restrict you from eating. If you look around on this forum there's more than one discussion about it. And a few very helpful links to doctors explaining the band. Also many people don't reach the "green zone" until numerous fills or months. You can't stay on liquids that long. Lots if people call this early stage "bandster hell" and it's just something we have to work through all the while eating as our doctors tell us too. Perhaps you should try the suggestions your doctor has given you. And just use will power to work thru this hard time.
  3. I'm actually having very little hunger as long as I have lots of protein. But my doctor doesn't fill before 60 days as he wants to be sure you are healed. But that's a month away so I might have to call.
  4. Banded one month today. Down 18 lbs; was hoping for 20 but I'll take the 18. ???Š No fill until 2/21. Hope I don't chew my arm off before then.

Banded 1 week ago--questions, please help

Every doc is different but I'm surprised salad was on your ok to eat list. To feel full longer try having more protein rich foods.

Go to doctor and get flu test to confirm. Then dr will prescribe tamiflu. It really helps but you need it early on for it work.

    And now...solids

Banded 12/19. I was allowed solids after day 10. Been eating Protein, veggies, then maybe a lil bit of a starch. Staying under calorie goal and really not hungry. No fill until 2/21. How are you?

    Gastro-intestinal Bug

Since you're not even two weeks post op you should prolly call your dr and get instructions on what to do. I would be concerned too.

    3 weeks post op

I was banded 12/19. I'm trying not drinking any of my calories. I have breakfast with solid protein most often egg beaters omelette. Same thing for lunch and dinner. Solid protein first then veggies and maybe a small amount of starchy food. I think eating food that I really have to chew keeps me full longer. I only have a shake if I've had less that 45g of protein for the day. Today at 4:30 I was hungry since I had lunch at 12. But 3 strawberries was enough to tide me over until I could get home and cook and eat at 7:30. I haven't had a fill and won't until 2/21. I am only loosing about a pound a week but I'm ok with that. This is working for me. Maybe there's some part of it you can try and it will work for you.

  14. Anyone use an app to remind you to drink water? I've tried out a few free ones but still not happy. Any suggestions? I am will to pay for an app that comes well recommended. Thanks!

App to Remind to Drink Water

Yeah. I was hoping to find an app that had more details than just the timer on the phone. Hopefully someone can recommend one.

App to Remind to Drink Water

I've been using the timer on my phone. Take drink and set it for 10 minutes. It works unless I'm not at my desk and then I have no idea when I last drank something. I know that sounds silly. But I can get up to go to the printer and get pulled into an hour long meeting easily. I just can't seem to keep track.

hardest bandster rule to follow for me..

This is so hard for me too. I have actually swished water in my mouth and spit it out as I just FELT I needed a drink. I knew it would be hard for me though. Before when eating out I would stop eating until waitstaff refilled my water glass.

    Had restriction, but now none?

Remember ever doctor is different. Mine allowed me solids after day 10.

    Banding on December 19

I do have a 45 minute commute so I'll try to remember to drink then too. But I'm usually too busy driving fast and switching lanes. Lol. I think I'll try a Water bottle that actually has measurement marks. That way I can be more sure how much I am actually getting in.

    Banding on December 19

I don't get a fill until 2/21. Doctor waits two months. I get hungry but only when I think I should. Such as if I have lunch about noon and don't get home until after 7 then I'm pretty darn hungry. Keeping all my meals to under a cupful and most days getting in all my protein. Rarely do i eat more than 1000 calories/day. Still struggling to get in all the water. Even using a timer to remind doesn't help. I'm just not thirsty and if I truly force myself I gag. Any ideas?

Click the sign in button then right mouse click and pick open. That's the only way I get it to open.

Yes I was in the afternoon.

    I need a new dr!!!

I agree with your comment about his staff. They always seemed surprised when I show up for an appointment and then I see 4-5 people that arrive after me go in before. Also, he said I would come in every month for a fill until I reached where I needed to be. Figured I would just discuss needing the fill, not like he would force a needle into me, but now you've made my concerns more valid.
