So I'm not looking for suggestions for what you put in a smoothie, but the actual process. Mine never seem to be thick. I have a decent blender and also a hand blender. How much ice? Any other liquids? Do you dissolve the Protein powder in liquid or just dump it into the mixture? Thanks!

Thanks everyone. So many ideas to try out.

If I feel I do know the nutrional information, I do confirm to help better the database.

Thanks for responding. Guess I'll have to keep trying.

I will google elsewhere and look at calories. The variation on MFP is somewhat error but also preparation of the food. So sometimes I'll look for a recipe that gives the calories also. I have entered things from scratch into MFP but I didn't find it easy and still wasn't for sure it was exactly correct.

We've been switching the day to see what works. I'll let you know the next one. There's a True Results in Hurst that has meetings. You might could attend those. I'm newly banded so I do know how much help I can offer. But PM if you want and I'll do my best to offer encouragement. -

We've switched the day around trying to find something that works so I'll let you know the next one. I'm in Arlington, but newly banded so I don't know how much help I'd be to you. But you can PM if you want. I'll do my best to encourage. There's also a True Results in Hurst. You might call and see if you can go to their meetings. I haven't been to their meetings as I just can't make it there on time after work. -
Eating on the go...
blondegal_ replied to Hip2bFITT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Myfitnesspal app has helped me. It has lots of restaurant meals. Sometimes it's frustrating as the size is just "one portion" no true measured amount. But since I measure all my foods at home I'm getting much better at knowing sizes. Also I found some pics on Pinterest which were about serving sizes so that has helped too. Hope these ideas might work for you too. -

For the few I know, the women started getting attention and the husbands got jealous and instead of cherishing their wives put the women down. So the women went to the attention so to speak. But all three marriages had issues before.

I get hungry at work. Stress causes it as well as my coworkers. Coworkers make me hungry?? Yep. Making popcorn, getting lunch at 11:30 (didn't think of food til I smelled theirs), someone's bday so there's cake, free sodas etc in break room, people "pushing" Girl Scout cookies, it just goes on and on.

If you plan to count calories then yes. It has a very large database of foods and you can scan barcodes too. There's a couple of other apps- lose it and spark people I think are two others. Check them out and see which one you like.

Sorry men i need to ask

PMS is the only time I want chocolate. I will say no, no to myself the first few days. Then by day three I make sure I have enough calories/carbs left to have 1 Hershey's kiss. That usually works. So maybe think about what you are really craving and just work it in. Before restriction many say it's like dieting. But if I feel like I've allowed myself the chocolate then I haven't failed. I haven't cheated. -
1 cup and count all my calories. Only been banded about 3 months but as I read & read on this board this seemed to be the method of the successful people so I'm trying to following in their shoes.

1 week banded with plication
blondegal_ replied to melodyj730's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I didn't have gb removal but had other 3 as out patient. They gave me an anti nausea patch to wear as well as pills. Just make sure you get all care instructions before the procedure so you can ask questions. Right before and then after surgery isn't good as usually you can't really focus on the info. -
I'm told not to eat before.

I've gotten better about portions cuz when I can I measure. But I'm still not good knowing calories. Myfitnesspal is truly my pal. I often look things up before eating them.

1 week banded with plication
blondegal_ replied to melodyj730's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
A bit more.... I have lost 40 lbs. I usually have just under 1000 calories/day. And never ever go over 1250; my doctor's limit set for me. I did some math and that's avg of 2lbs/wk. So I wouldn't say plication has helped me lose more faster but I truly think its helped with head hunger issues. I feel like if I was exercising maybe that avg would be at 3 lbs. But I'm happy with it all and have always had a two year plan of reaching goal. The slow and steady wins the race is how I've approached it. -
1 week banded with plication
blondegal_ replied to melodyj730's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was banded 12/19 with plication. I don't feel I've lost more weight or faster with the plication. But I have never been HUNGRY or said I'm STARVING. I did get a fill at two months and will get one next week but only cuz I wasn't lasting a full 4 hours with every meal. I have just about a cup of food three times a day with a snack at about 4pm some days cuz I don't make it home until after 7 for dinner most days. And Im not exercising cuz of a lower back issue. Going to orthopedic and hope to start soon. Don't know if this helps you any but thought I'd share. -
Ok. Not quite on topic. But does anyone experience lower grade fever with PMS or start of TOM? If yes did BC help? I'm not currently on any BC as the hormones were causing me all kinds if problem even pre-band. But I often have a fever during PMS or first two days of period.

Anything an absolute no?

The book True Results gives you says carbonation is ok. So there are some who are actually putting it in writing. But I'm not going to chance it.
