    Grazing...head hunger...HELP!

I think my hormones take over on some days. I just want to eat but next day back to normal. I've started tracking hungry days as they don't quite relate to typical PMS days.

    Stuck... now what?

You might still have a little something stuck. Go to the bathroom. Make any effort to swallow down the slime. This will cause it to build up. The little stuff will move down or come back up. Then you'll prolly want to do liquids for 24hrs as you probably irritated.

    Considering surgery

(As a point of reference - I've been banded almost nine months. I've had fills and if I'm not in the green zone, it's at least sea foam green. ???Š) I did not have to do a pre surgery diet. That varies by doctor/insurance. There are no foods that I cannot eat. I do not have carbonated drinks very often. I've had a beer at a couple of social events but drank them very slowly as I could feel the gas. I have gotten stuck before but if I chew, chew, chew I can eat anything. But there's a lot I don't eat as I count calories and get in the needed Protein. And I eat a cup or less of food per meal so that doesn't leave much room for a lot of things. I have had a cupcake at a birthday celebration or even some chocolate just because but I count the calories and usually a bite or two us enough to feel satisfies. For me the band has not been about giving up foods. It's been about eating healthier and smaller amounts. Hope this helps you.

    wow...bad news

Call a friend or family member? Or if you're comfortable sharing your news here, there's prolly many people that can relate. Or go for a long walk and just let your mind wander. For me - I scrub my bath tub and then take a hot long bath enjoying my hard work. Wishing you peace...
  9. You might just increase by increments of 100 calories until it works for you. I stay at 900-1000 and lose consistently. At 1100-1200, I wouldn't always lose a pound a week. And get your Protein in. That also makes a difference for me. Good luck.

Going monthly to the dr to discuss progress and getting fills under his advisement, logging calories each and every day to stay on track, and exercising. Good luck to you!

    hiatal hernia

It can be repaired during the Lapband surgery. I won't say it's common but a fair amount of people have them.
  14. How's everyone doing at 8 months post-op? Down 80 lbs and feeling well. Hasn't been super easy but it's been worth it.

    Aetna

I was self pay and used True Results. I ended up also having a hernia repaired. BCBS sent me info saying I MAY owe xx amount but 7 months later True Results has never sent me an additional bill. I think now days insurance companies deny claims first time they are submitted. I say don't worry and don't ask until you get an actual bill. And then ask them to resubmit the claim, use the services of your insurance rep (most companies that provide employees insurance have one but don't always makes that known), and if you must set up a payment plan. And don't agree to any amount that will stress your budget. Tell me what you can pay and be firm. Make them see they'll still get their money otherwise they get none.

Share ideas, What did you eat today ?

A typical day: B- egg beaters with cheese and turkey bacon S- English tea with sugar free creamer L- lean cuisine meal or tuna fish (I often work thru lunch so I need something quick and easy) S- beef Jerky, almonds, cottage cheese, popcorn D- whatever I'm in the mood for in small portion After dinner - Vitamins I try to stay at 1000 calories/day and get in over 60g Protein everyday. I don't limit carbs as the required protein and calorie level takes care of that. There are days that I have a Protein shake for Breakfast or dinner as I'm just not hungry.

    UnJury/Protein Powder

I mix it with water that is at the max temperature suggested. Once it's fully dissolved I mix in with another Soup that's at a hotter temp. Usually comes out just right. Favorite one to mix it with is Pacific brand French onion soup.

You can order a variety pack. I ended up liking all of them but then bought the vanilla in the canister. For me, vanilla is the easiest to use as a "base" for all kinds of smoothies.

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's Off to Work We Go!

I have not told anyone at work and don't plan to. I took two weeks of vacation off and had surgery in Dec'12. I explained eating differently as a New Year's Resolution. I do suspect HR as to not keeping things confidential but no one has said anything directly to me. And if I was the talk of the office I would have heard it by now. They are my coworkers. I have concern for them but I don't want to know all the details of their lives, and I continue to hope they aren't interested in mine. And these are people I've worked with for over 10 years.
