Ok, I haven't been on here in a long time and Im glad to see a guy thread. Now lets talk some sports. I live in Dallas and am a SPURS fan! It has been so fun bustin balls for like 2 weeks now that the mavs (typed in lower case letters to show disrespect) CHOKED away another season. Go Spurs tonight. And as always GO COWBOYS !!! (Jerry World is just around the corner) Bandster question now. Do ya'll notice clothes sizes droping more than weight? I got banded in May and have only lost 12 lbs so far, but can really tell in clothing. Is this that inches instead of pounds chics talk about?

NICE answer Superrali72. NICE !!! -
Were you drug tested before surgery?
jubjub replied to Candle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Candle, some Dr's may be different, but I have never heard of them drug testing anyone. I know quite a few women that have had different Dr's in the area and no one ever mentioned that. If you do occasionally now don't worry about it. I do and had no complications at all before during or after the surgery. Your paying them and as long as you passed your stress test and jumped through all their hoops, you have noting to worry about at all. Unless you have insurance like some of these other people, and that sucks. -
Hey, im back. Sanjaya !!! Another week. He is cruising by each week. Simon won't even talk to him anymore. It's working! All Hail the King of all Media.... Howard Stern ! Howard, Howard, Howard !!!

O I forgot, a job with DAMN good Insurance helps alot! I was fortunate enough not to have to pay anything out of pocket except Dr visits. Round of applause for United Health Care !!!!

Im having pizza tonight! NICE !! JeninCO I had the surgery done to help me control the amount of food I eat and loose some weight in the process. I did not get it to completly deprive myself of the food I love so much. I am a guy who loves red meat and has a mindset that thinks vitamin pills won't really give me the nutrients I need. Now I can't eat hamburgers, but I can eat hamburger meat and chicken no problem. I know people say that vitamis work just as well, but to me I want the real thing. I want the meat and vegtables and fruit. I want the taste of them, not some chewable pill. Don't cheat yourself, treat yourself. I have not tried pizza chain pizza yet. I have only eaten homemade because I can make the crust real thin and crispy. Reading this, mabye I could try a slice of thin crust Pizza Hut pepperoni.. mmm..... man I miss those days, pizza and a Dr Pepper w/ lots of ice! Damn that was some good eating. Ok, im going to close now. Everyone remember VOTE FOR SANJAYA !!! (Howard 100)

So it's been a while for me, but I saw Berry's name and knew he always had interesting threads. So im glad to see other people are like me. I to just had it done and do not have a fill. I am just now starting to try more and more food. I have eaten pizza already, but bread and red meat does not work. I can eat hamburger meat and chicken no problem. Now I am finally going to get my post op check up tomorrow. So I have no idea how much weight I have lost. I was worried that I was able to eat food with no problem. I know that will change when I get fills. But im very glad to see others are eating just like me.

Han anyone eaten applesauce or pudding during the pre surgery liquid diet? Do they have us do this diet so we can be used to not being able to eat solid food for a couple weeks after surgery? Im doing good with liquid, but I ate applesauce and pudding today cause i was so damn hungry. Has anyone else just like cut way back on solid food and only eaten like pudding and jello and stuff up to their surgery date?

Sanjaya wins again !!! Take it one week at a time.

My first 24 hours post op
jubjub replied to txbecca's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You should be cool after 9 days. You definetly should not lift things, but if your crane Jones it should be cool. It will be cool man, they give you good drugs so no pain. And you should be able to walk around pretty good at least the next day. I love that surgery date! Happy 4/20 !! -
Can I smoke after surgery / Why YES I CAN!!
jubjub replied to jubjub's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
NICE !!! We all wish for that birthday. My surgery # was 420. -
I tried to find this answer somehwere, but I could not. I just want to know if I will be able to smoke marijuana after surgery, or will it not help the healing process. Im sure I could a couple months after, but could I the next day after surgery? And no im not trying to be funny. I really wonder about this.

That is something you just have to deal with. Either eat a little snack or do something else. Im only 1 week new to the band, so I can't speak for others, but so far, I just drink a juice or eat a jello or something. You have to cut way back on what you usually eat anyway, so it wont hurt if you eat 2 jello cups in one night or something. And from what I read and hear once you get a couple fills in you, you really can't eat much of anything. So ill see how it goes the more times goes on. And I have smoked since I got home that day from the hospital. Of course not as much due to the good pain medication you get. But I did partake. And im healing up fine. But that is me, im not saying it would be the same for everyone. -
Hell yeah Sanjaya won. You see they didn't even hype it up. They said he stays and that is that. Americon Idol is going to be forced to officially come out and say something about Howard. Both Simon and Seacrest basically came out and said it last night. Keep Sanjaya on, He is my next American Idol Get the phones ready. We can do it again next week. If anyone dosen't want to watch and just vote for him, go check out HowardStern.com and you can find the phone # posted. DAMN BETH O is TALL !!!!!!!!!!

Not at all. So if you get hungry, have a snack. Who cares, no one is going to scold you if you get stoned and eat something. Life can be fun if you allow it to be. -
yeah, Sanjaya tonight ROCKED !!!!! The show is starting to suck anyway, no one has been as good as Clarkson or that Country girl. BOTH SMOKIN HOT !!! Im ready to vote and so is the Howard army tonight. Who cares if Howard has something to do with the Sanj-ster winning. It's a tv show that should have quit a long time ago. Remember everyone tune in tomorrow morning to Howard 100 for Sanjaya updates.

Everyone has their own opinions and lives their own lives. Everyone is different, and who cares why I decided to get the band or not. It was my choice to do it. Ive seen this lap band 1st hand for a year now. And I know what to be careful with and what not to be a titty about. I had the idea to eat mushy food from this web site. I was off couple days so I just spent my time on hear reading all these posts. Alot of people where all play by the rules Jones, but a few did things differenttly. They made it, I will make it and other people will make it after me. When your 1st banded the band isn't even full. Why mind F yourself w/ liquids for 4 weeks all scared about tearing this and that. Wwwaaahhh !!! Like I read on here, a DR can't really give you exact advise unless they had the same thing done and went through the same things before us. And my DR sure dosen't have a port sticking out of his stomach. People have the choice to act like adults and make decisions in their life that affect themselves and whomever they choose to join that life. Why does everyone have to follow the exact same rules. If that is how it's supposed to be I probably woudln't be typing this response right now. Kim Jong Yang (the Korean ruler at this juncture) could be our leader and there would be no Fatty Chatty for anyone. I sat here and wondered the same things. Would I hurt myself, would I get denied surgery for not following the liquid diet to the letter? Would I be crippled up on the couch crying about gas pain for days and days. And the answer Alex....X NO! And I may be a lucky one, but guess what, that's how it went for ME. So if someone can read this and form his or her own opinion about it then so be it. This was my experience and how I handled the situation. It's not for everyone. Any guy out there who wants to get this done, but worries being able to smoke after surgery or eat some kind of food sometime after surgery and basically dosen't want to be a pussy about it all. YOU DON'T HAVE TO ! You can get this Lap Band and still have fun in life. Yes there are things everyone needs to consider and weigh the risks. But if you can get a handle of all of it, why the hell not keep enjoying life. I loved life before this band and plan to love it even more after it. This band only changes my apperance, not the person who I am inside. -
Everyone Vote Sonjaya. No matter what. And watch Beth O on the View tomorrow. Howard Stern still the King.........

I just had it done as well. Im a couple days post surgery and I have been eating mushy real food. The pre diet I never did the low fat anything. Was good w/ liquids, but ate pudding and jello and icecream. I know ALOT of people on here say stick to what the diet says, especially after surgery. Well I have not. It bothered me once when I ate to much I could feel the food just sitting over the band. But besided protein drinks I have had mashed potatos and Red Beans and Rice from Popeye's. DAMN it's good. Me personally, I can take this food and it's not hurting me. I would stick w/ moderete food you can take and just work up from there. I don't feel the liquid diet is completley needed for 2 weeks afterwards. Just try stuff a little at a time and see what your body can take. I would be loosing my mind right now if I was still only drinking liquids. But to each his own. -
Time to suck it up Berry, it will get better, but time to man up! Im taking gas x and tums. Tums seems to help the best. And if you feel like you can have something good to eat, try it. I recomend potato soup or something. Something to fill you up with. Protein drinks help alot to. They really will fill you up. Walking around will help you burp as well. Your now banded and on to a better life, don't sit around and tweak about it. Enjoy it.
