Mexico vs. Wishcenter
one gone dog replied to Sofla Kate's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
both my wife and i had ours put in by Dr Rumbaut. and the only problem we had was not his fault BUT BUT BUT, when he heard what had happend HE OUT OF HIS PERSONAL ACCOUNT PAID US WHAT IT COST US TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. he then got refunded by inamed. the problem was a product issue. I dont know about the wish center but i keep hearing they're not to bright. -
i can tell you its not even close to how bad it was back in spring of 04'. I'll keep the rest of my thoughts to myself.

Thank you. I'll let her know.

my wife had a baby 5 months ago and shes starting to get adjusted again, now she seems to battle really bad heartburn. she didn't have heartburn prior to getting pregnant or after the first adjustment. it was after her 3rd that put her back up to 7.5cc we will be asking the doctor on her next visit, we're just wondering if anyone else may have gone through this. Any comments would be appreciated.

Gall Bladder Removal post banding...
one gone dog replied to piercedqt78's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Just make sure your doctor knows its there and if you can show him what it looks like.print up a photo of one in place. One doctor thought my wifes was a pace maker. I didnt have any Fluid removed.and after knowing what was and where it was, he had no worries about it. the only thing the doctor did different was to look at it with the camera while he was in there. My recovery was a little longer because of damage to my liver. it wasnt more painfull, he just had me on light duty for a month. (thats not easy when you do new construction plumbing) I walked out of the hospital as soon as the drugs wore off. and felt better then when the band was put in.. had a few days of that "bloated" feeling. untill its out, stay away from anything fried,or anything that has oil on it(like salad dressing). soft bland foods only. it will help,at least to some degree. now once its out, something that alot of people have happen and dont always warn others about is, sometimes when you think you might have to fart, run to the toilet, you might not make. aome people get over this little side effect and others live with it for a long time. but it sure beats that belly ache before it was removed. -
both my wife and i are banded, my wife has had hers since 5/03 and ive had mine since 5/04 . we've been married since may 1988. yes we do alot in the month of may. never had kids, till now :target: we have a verry pretty 5 and a 1/2 month old little girl. the only thing that has changed in all the time we've been married was the sudden weight loss. for your viewing the walters family web site. http://familylobby.com/mikeandmarinawalters/

over the summer while my wife was still preggo with our little girl she had to go in for weekly ultrasounds.(long story as to why it was weekly) anyway, our little girl was in a bad postition for the ultrasound to get good mesurements. so the nurse starts to try to rub the side of my wifes belly to find the babys foot to wake up to roll over. heres how the converstation went: nurse: I found her foot and we'll see if we can get her to roll over. wife: thats not her foot: nurse :yes it is. wife: ummm no its not, thats my PORT for my band that i told you about. nurse: no ive got the babys foot. wife: Im telling you thats not her foot at this time my wife starts to rub the OTHER side of her belly and the baby rolls over. nurse:see i told you i had the foot. wife. ummm ,,,, ok.

its not really a belch or burp
one gone dog replied to one gone dog's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i like that. -
It does come up from your gut and flys out of your mouth when you open it when you would rather it didnt. when ever i have this it always sounds like a drain letting that last little bit of Water down at the end. kinda wierd. several months ago i was just sticking my hand out to a local cop to shake his hand and introduce myself, but when i opened my mouth this noise flew out like a burp on steroids. i droped my hand and head, said "scuse me" while i reached for my wallet to show him my card with my band info on it and told him sometimes it just happens, and told him about my band. thankfully he kinda knew about it from some friends of his that have had the bypass. now today i get on the phone to deal with the ceo of the company that installed my heat pump and furnance to take care of some problems with the system. the first thing he hear's when he said "hello" was this noise that would have barney from the simpsons immpressed. so who else has the burp on steroids from out of nowhere ?

Is there anything better then pan roasted garlic ? you bet, MORE pan roasted garlic. well before being banded i could eat a pound of the good stuff, now not so much. yesterday i ate only a few small cloves of this tasty treat. and last night found that it now creates a very big problem. it was never a problem in the past but now,,,, :bananapowerslide: :painkiller: even the dogs didnt want around me. so just like a glass of wine or a shot of vodka, a little goes a long ways. yep its a gross topic but it is what it is.

It's an insurance issue, not Mexico vs. USA
one gone dog replied to Margo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thats some really good points and for the most part i agree with you. and maybe my wife and i are the "odd man out" but we didnt go to Mexico for those reasons. we actually went because of the doctor. for us it was a close call between the one we chose and one in italy and in sweeden. however i do agree with you as to that is why mexico is used so much. maybe things will change now that the overall cost has come down in the usa (at least in the pacific northwest) to be very close to that of the mexican prices. right now i believe (and could be wrong) that the biggest difference is mexico does not make you do the psych exam or pay for the blood work up. -
I like how it was just said to me about the side effects of this stuff. "if you even think you have to fart, its to late"
