i dont know what the road name is, i know it was like the main road (5 or 6 lanes wide) heading to the sanjose hospital. the music store looked like a night club. and was HUGE inside. there was also a little guitar shop next door to the hampton inn.

Erosion Myths?what Have You Heard?
one gone dog replied to CRISTAN's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
this is just what ive heard , coffee, smoking, overeating, soda pop, spicy food, aspirin, pain killers with narcotics in them, orange juice (or anything to acidic). i even heard (wish i could remember where) that to many SIT UPS will cause it. not spit ups i did mean sit ups. -
theres 3 huge malls there a really cool music store, flea markets and bunch of neat stores right downtown. if your staying at the hampton inn its all within 30 minutes or so. as far as what we got its been two years since we were there last. i remember tequila, lots of tequila.

Anyone have trouble keeping restriction?
one gone dog replied to kittycat's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
for awhile it can be a monthly thing. most docs wont put in very much on any one fill. it takes time to build up to your "sweet spot". to much on one fill combined with the swelling and you wouldnt even swallow your own spit. my wife had that happen on one and had to have some taken back out. so if you have a larger band take your time because you will get there. at some point the doctor will likely pull out all that has been put in to check the fullness of your band. some believe that should happen on every fill and others dont. but take your time, its a life long thing here. and yes it can be very very fustrating on the way there, and can seem costly every month. -
I never eat what im not spossed to, now why did i set my Cookies and milk on the table when im at my computer telling lies ? :grouphug: and some of you have had some really good thoughts on this subject.

it depends on the size of your band. it took my wife 4 or 5 fills before it lasted more then a couple of weeks. she has a large band 9.75. i have a smaller one 5cc and have had 3 fills and may need one more. but even i didnt notice much after the first two fills after a week or so. but this last fill i had to take notice of. theres a certain amount of swelling that happens when you get a fill so you will seem really tight untill that swelling goes down. -

oh no,no,no,no, i do everyday in the morning. i have coffee with cream (hazelnut) and sugar. iwill not drink it black anymore (pre banding issue). and not to long ago i had a lot on my mind and really wanted chocolate and or penut butter. so i got a hershy bar and a jar of penut butter and sat down with a large glass of milk. and i enjoyed every bite.

I never knew the lady personly but she and a friend went out the day after surgery and had pizza. one got lucky and just hurt really bad, the other lady had to have surgery that night because she ripped stiches . pay good money and go into self destruct mode. i just wish my mother and mother in law would stop showing up with Cookies and cake every weekend. They leave 'em and i throw 'em away. and yes ive asked and told them to knock it off.

just a thought here, Should the clinics in Mexico ONLY take USA patients on referral from a clinic in the u.s ? this way the mexico clinic knows that you already have your follow up care taken care of.
-
fair enough, heres how im looking at it. the Mexico doctor has no clue about your background in any form. so instead of calling up ,setting a date then go down, get a quick blood work up and ultrasound and ekg, then the next day get it put in. go home a couple days later.then a month or two later try to find a fill doctor. thats about the avg mexico trip ive found. not true for all but avg. so instead why not have them tied in with clinics up here that you can go to. do all your testing up here, the blood test's done up here are far more detailed anyway. you can establish a "relationship" with your aftercare fill doctor. and i think the most important thing would be that for a clinic up here to bind themselves with a mexican doctor they would have to know how he puts it in, whats his clinic is like and is the guy really as good as he claims. and now you already know who your fill doc is, you should have gotten all you re-banding info and all your new diet info. i know alot of places up in the pacific northwest wont touch you regardless of what your willing to pay if they didnt see you before the band was put in. and they dont just exlude mexican patients.
