If anyone in my life doubted that I haven't consumed more than a half bottle of water and half a protein shake in two days, there's my proof! 6.5 pounds in 2 days! I ended up throwing up the small amount of water that I sipped today so there was no other option but to get a little unfill. I feel so much better now! I've never enjoyed a bowl of soup more than this one right here.

That is crazy. So you're doing better now?

Band too tight or will it get better?
AmyBK posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok well I'm about 5 weeks post op and finally had my second fill today. It was horrible because he couldn't find the sweet spot and they had to use ultrasound. I felt like a damn pin cushion. We finally got it done though and I'm at about 4.5 right now. I felt good when I drank immediately after, though I could tell a difference. Now that I'm home I'm a little uncomfortable. I feel the tightness and I tried a few sips of a Protein shake for dinner but that's all I could take, about six sips. Then I got painful hiccups that took forever to go away. Now I'm afraid to consume anything. I guess I'll try again in the morning but I have an 8:15 business meeting that I can't be hiccuping in. Did any of you have some issues after a fill that got better after a day or so? I really don't want to go back and have him dig around in my stomach with that needle again. It still hurts! -
I feel for you. That's a horrible feeling. I would stay in touch with you're doctor. You may need to have a little taken out.

I'm in the same boat. Had a fool yesterday and I could only consume a half bottle of water today and a half bottle of protein shake. Even a sip of water is painful. I talked to the doctor today. I'll give it another day or so and see if it gets better. If I were you I'd stick to liquids for a few days.

Band too tight or will it get better?

Wow okiekatt! So are you all good now? I was up till midnight last night extremely uncomfortable. I woke up feeling better as far as that heartburn feeling goes so that was a huge relief. However all I've been able to consume all day is half a bottle of Water and half a GNC Protein shake, and that's no exaggeration. I also kept getting crazy powerful hiccups. I updated the doctor today. If I'm still like this tomorrow I'll have no choice but to get some taken out. I surely don't need to be getting dehydrated. I sure was happy that I want hungry all day. -

I went back to work after a week wearing my spanx. I would wear the high waist ones. -

Oh I so hope you guys are right. Thank you! -
Hi all! I was banned this Wednesday so I'm three days post-op. I'm feeling better but still have odd things going on. It still Hurts when I sneeze and its hard to get my fluids and protein in. Every sip starts with the painful burping. How long did it take for the weird feelings and pains to go away? I want to start walking on the treadmill but there's no way I'm ready. I also need to go back to work after a week and I can't be sitting in upper management meetings burping! Thanks!

Well this Wednesday I'll be two weeks post op. I lost 13 pounds in the week after surgery but as son as i went on to mushy food that stopped. I'm no longer feeling restriction (I guess the swelling has gone down) and I've actually gained two pounds! How can this be? Can I only lose weight on liquids? Am I that cursed? The first few days I was eating chicken salad and i think that was a bad choice so I'm sticking to chicken baked at home now bit come on, gaining???

No Restriction 2 Weeks Post Op
AmyBK replied to kma87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm almost two weeks post op and have gained a few pounds back...really sad about that. The hunger is back which is really hard to deal with after everything going so well at first. I understand the reasons for this, but it's still tough. I'm eating very little but I guess not little enough. I'm hoping he'll give me a fill today since I'm feeling and healing great. -
Maddy, I didn't think of it that way. I guess if I knew this was normal I'd feel better, and it sounds like you're saying it is.

Ok so I was banded last Wednesday and am having my follow up appointment today. Everything is going well and I feel great. I am a bank manager so even when my weight was at healthy levels I had to wear spanx under my suits, pants and dresses. I mean, let's face it, they're an absolute miracle. Does anyone out there wear spanx? When were you able to begin wearing them again after surgery? I hope to go back to work tomorrow and reeeealy need to be able to. I'll ask the doc today of course but I'd like to hear from you guys. Thanks!

To each his own. I don't know what I'd do without them. Good point Carrie!

I think they are. Just look at the chart and make sure you get the right size for your height and weight. They're not just for overweight people either. Celebrities swear by them.
-
Yes like a girdle but better. They breathe because they're thinner but they hold you in so much better. They have countless different styles...even clothes. Pricey but awesome.
-
They can be a woman's best friend . You wear them under your clothes and they can make you look a dress size smaller, clothes fit more comfortably and smooth out unsightly bumps and lumps. I think the website is spanx.com. I get them at Lane Bryant.

After Surgery, The Nay Sayers Come Out Of The Woodwork
AmyBK posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm four days post-op, recovering week I think, and am 15 pounds down. My husband and I got into a little disagreement last night and he comes out with this: I'm scared of how much you're going to change, what you're going to look like, and you have no idea how mammy people have told me I should have talked you out of this. Ok, this is strange for several reasons: my husband is very active and fit and I only gained this weight in the last few years and was very fit myself five years ago. We pretty much know how I'm going to look...awesome! Also he knows how miserable and uncomfortable i have been. I've also developed insulin resistance and high blood pressure. What about my health?!? I was floored. Also my family and friends have been all supportive to my face but secretly begging him to get me to change my mind! That is so freaking aggravating! I don't even know what to say. Should I pretend i never heard this or confront the culprits (in a loving way of course)? -
After Surgery, The Nay Sayers Come Out Of The Woodwork
AmyBK replied to AmyBK's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That's what I told him. I think after we talked he came around. Other than that conversation he has been supportive. I guess his fears of the unknown and for my safety came out. I'm trying to be more understanding and he is too. -
I never gave it much thought prior to surgery but now that I'm post-op and feeling all of the changes I have developed a real fear of throwing up. What if you get a stomach virus, food poisoning or even pregnant? With the band there how in the world do you throw up without totally destroying the surgeons work? Is it the worst pain in the world? How does anything come up past the band when your stomach muscles are convulsing? Sorry if this is a disgusting post, I'm just developing some real anxiety over this, and I'm not an anxious person.
