  1. Haven't been here in a while. I am from December 2012. Anyway, I was banded a year ago today. 81 pounds later, consistent and steady. I feel better, look better and have made significant ant improvement in my blood pressure and cholesterol. A work in progress. Don't be afraid. This will be one of the best decisions you ever make.
  2. Don't feel bummed. I was banded a month ago today. I'm only down 10. But....I feel great. Keep up the good work and this will work. We didn't gain this weight overnight. I just keep reminding myself that I gained this 1 donut at a time, then 2 donuts, then 3, 4,......etc. Now, I drive past the donut shop and wave at the cute Vietnamese girl at the counter. While she is sad that she hasn't seen my ugly mug in a long time, I would go into acute sugar shock if I ate one now.
  3. It was a week for me also. Take your stool softeners even if you think you don't need them. My doctor explained that when nothing solid goes in, nothing solid comes out. Hope all are doing well and wishing everyone a happy holiday. Been absent for a few days, was hiding in an undisclosed location awaiting the end of the Mayan calendar.
  4. 3 day pre-op sounds good. 3 week was torture.
  5. I'm 6 days post-op and doing well. I have one issue that has me perplexed. I have sneezed a couple of times and when I do, my abdominal muscles will twitch for a period of about 5 minutes afterward. No pain or discomfort but twitching can be a little unnerving. Anyone else have this?

    sneezing??

Thanks. It is just a strange sensation.
  7. Thanks, haven't seen the cheese on Amazon. Would like to eventually try it on whole grain Pasta.
  8. Grilled cheese!!!! Sounds good!!! I was already warned by my nutritionist that I am not allowed to put a grilled chese sandwich in the food processor. Wonder what that would taste like pureed? Good luck tomorrow!!
  9. Banjo, you will do great.
  10. Wow. The differences in the level of care is eye-opening. I guess I am very lucky. I went Wake Forest University Baptist Health, a large hospital in Winston-Salem. I was never pressured. The staff has always been accessable and helpful. I knew upfront that I would be staying overnight and during that overnight stay, the hospital staff made sure that I urinated. I wasn't being cleared to leave until I did. Before I did leave, a hospital pharmacist met with me in my room to discuss my prescriptions and to show me how to take my medicines properly. Obviously, these people are doing this for a living but I was never made to feel that quantities of procedures was a priority.

    Final Hours

Good luck. You will do great. I have been drinking Crystal Light lemonade since coming home Wednesday. Never dreamed I would look forward to having soup. Soup has enough sodium to choke a horse, but it is only temporary.
  12. I can get UNJURY in a local store but they don't carry the cheese sauce. I will have to order it direct. My local nutrition store only has vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. When I get the cheese sauce, I will let you know.
  13. As for pain from the incisions. Don't be afraid, they only last a couple of days. You will do fine.
  14. The gas pains can be bad. Get some Gas-X strips, they will help. This is one area where being a man makes this easier. Men usually don't care about gas. Women will hold it for days so as not to embarass themselves. Let it go...you will feel better. LOL
  15. Good morning to my fellow partners in crime. Everything went well and my new life starts today. Very little pain, liquid diet consisted of coffee, vegetable broth, apple juice and runny jell-o. Thanks for all the kind words and putting up with my sick sense of humor. Congrats to my fellow bandsters already done this month. Your stories of how your procedures went were very inspirational and kept me from getting cold feet.
  16. All done and in my hospital room. Will go home tomorrow. Procedure went well. I've been sleepy. Pardon any jibberish, happy juice is doing the talking. Thanks for the support. Back to Sleepyland now.
