Trying to find out if anyone has had DS in Texas who may have had medicare medicaid. I previously had the sleeve and am looking for a new doctor since mine is rude and hours away. I live western part of texas but I interested in anything. I'm not even sure where to start to find a doctor For DS in texas but all my surgeon wanted to do was gastric bypass. tells me it isn't medically necessary even though i still have all the same co morbilities and now my knees are worse then they were 3 years ago.medicare will allow a second surgery so i was told if it is medically necessary so i would like a second opinion. I'm frustrated at how the surgeon blames me for not losing weight even though he says i have a small dilation of the sleeve at the top. I've done all I can do paid their nutritionist to help so many times and she is just clueless. I am low carb I do watch calories. Just a waste of my time to travel nearly 4 hours for a clueless nutritionist and a doctor who blames me. I need help finding a doctor and am not sure where to turn to. So any suggestions would be appreciated.

i wonder if they take my insurance. Or will take a look at my issues i have had just having sleeve and not losing much at all. i started at surgery weight 360 i am now 300 i am low carb. and i do get jealous of all these sleevers who can basically cheat and still lose. Hurts really how my doctor feels i am eating the wrong things when truly i rarely cheat. I just have limitations to exercise.

What state are you in? There are a few around but knowing where you are will help locate the nearest one. I'm in Texas I had my surgery in San Antonio 3 half hours from my town.

. Tell me how it's possible to gain 12 pounds in 4 days I'm so damn frustrated ugh. I eat nearly the same thing daily keeping my carbs under 20 sometimes yes I go over but never over 50. That is rare at that. Sigh but 12 pounds up in 4 days scares me. No I'm not pregnant. So today I attempted the liquid diet again. It's like the hunger has come back full force and it isn't head hunger. Hopefully a few days of liquid will shock my system. Has anyone been prescribed calorie blockers or diet pills or appetite suppressants since surgery. I know that seems odd to ask but am curious.

Am so aggravated I have done all I can do I still have only lost 65 since surgery. Low carb low calorie I used my fitness pall for months and gave up. My surgeon said I had slight dilation upper stomach and I complained and said I want a revision he was rude blamed me for eating more calories when I keep very low below 800most days. My weight loss came to a halt 5 months out. The surgeon is a douche and even though I still have high blood pressure and sleep apnea he says another surgery isn't medically necessary. It pissed me off because it is medically necessary I hardly had restriction early on it is like my surgeon just doesn't care because they have never had to do a sleeve revision. I saw the dietician once I started gaining weight back and she couldn't figure out why I was not losing or gaining. So I give up seriously I give it to God if he wants me to be obese let it be his will sw 365 cw 300 to 306 it goes up and down all the time. Please don't give me a lecture about carbs calorie cardio I have heard it all. Sigh just want to be heard!

I am continuously regaining 5 to 10 pounds that is part of the problem also lack of restriction and way to hungry most days.

Had my thyroid checked but sure I can ask my doctor if she has any other my vitamin D is always low first time it was a 13 second time a 21. Can't hurt to try. Thank you:)

Feb8 2013 Surgery weight 365 Current 302 I must be the slowest loser. I'm so tired of not losing quickly or for months at all. I am very low carb 20 a day. Feel like I'm a failure. Idk what to do or change I journal food. Just tired. I'm always tired or my tummy hurts near daily sucks. I've only dropped one pants size in a year geese. And my nutritionist and doc blame me. I blame myself but I'm doing all I can. Has anyone been as slow as I am gosh.

I don't normally complain... but today I am such a wreck... the liquids make me throw up... have pushed ever friend away because I can't handle being around food. Is not their fault I do have depression and I normal if I didn't eat would get irritated well today bam gasket blown. I can handle this and only a few more days until feb 5 just strange how my depression got so worse so quickly... did anyone else have such a problem? Not to mention I feel super hungry but only when I smell food which I have two kids to cook for. So the temptations are present. Ball of nerves..

Thank you so much for responding!!! I need to find better shakes do you have any suggestions. I was on a low carb diet with no gluten or flour products at all. It was hard but managed it fine that I didn't need those potatoes I was addicted to. but this bariatric advantage is so disgusting. Atkins drinks taste way better. Am allowed broth and sugar free jellos and popsicles. Is difficult but because none of my friends understand it they just don't get why I don't want to watch them eat a meal! I can do this just need the right mind set. Thank you for your encouraging words!

started my pre op diet a day early already I hate the taste of my doctors prescribed bariactric advantage chocolate mess. Yuck adkins tastes better but I can handle it I think. It will all be worth it in the end. I am nervous but only cause any surgery scares me. I can't wait until I am able to run after my kids and be able to walk without pain. I need help have started pre op and I can have broths but it has to be 140mg or less per serving. I have looked at a variety of low sodium and all natural and can't find anything. Does anyone know of a store bought brand I can use on this liquid diet. Beef or chicken.140mg or less per serving. Thanks in advance

My last nutrition visit is set for two weeks. I have had some issues with kidney stones stuck to my diet but because I couldn't keep food down. I know I have gained weight. I am worried this will be a set back. I am ready to have my surgery soon. I am wondering really if anyone has gained before their last visit. I hope they don't make me wait another month.
