Hey, i was done on 30/11 and i lost 5kg during the liquid phase and then 5kg in the last 2 weeks but this week i put on 300g. I feel like my weight loss has totally stalled already. From day 7 when i got home i have one book with foods and cals and also calorie king downloaded on my phone, and the other book i write the day and how im feeling then i write my meals and cals and also exercise and cals and put it in myfitnesspal. But this week we had chrissy but also i brought new foods low in fat and cals and since then my weight has gone up. So im going to go back to those pages and find the meals that worked while i loosing weight. Any body any other ideas or same issues? -
I have to take 5 drugs morning and night but they are small, luckily and i wait a minute between. I used to be an icu nurse and we would dissolve the esomeprazole tablets in warm Water, takes about 5 mins, can you try and get the tabs, or ask the pharmastic if you can use a pill cuter to cut the tablets. The multi vitimin i hate taking, it diesnt feel stuck, but just not right. Oh i found for antibiotics, ask for the suspention or liquid form, didnt taste half bad!! Better than the horse tablets. Sorry about my ramble! Good luck

I decided that i would make a semi long term goal to reach a certin number at easter while everyone else is eating choccie!! I think im just going to be ultra strict on myself with chew chew chew chew chew, exercise and actually taking my multi Vitamin daily as opposed to maybe once a week! Its next to ny coffee machine so i dont really have any excuse. When you guys have mentioned detox what do you do???? Please tell me its not like that fad from years ago having liqiud grass!!! But im very interested in tips for detox. Thanks!

I love the wii, there are so many different fitness programs to shake it up and you really burn cals!! Also dance ones like zumba which also tell you cals. I live in a small flat and i get borred walking, so this is great, even on the hot summer days at the moment i have the fan directly on me and my daily goal is a min of 200cals, even if its over 2 sessions. I cant afford the gym and you can get the games cheap 2nd hand at game shops and ebay.

For white meat, i have found steamed fish is wonderful, nice and soft. As for red meat, i cant eat steak. I havent tried a lamb chop from the bbq yet! I miss them!! But i can tolerate lamb in a stew cos its so soft. Its wonderful during mushies and a cold night!! To advoid getting stuck our docs gave us a book and dvd showing that our pouch has only space for a teaspoon or small fork, so we have to take a small amount chew chew chew chew chew till mush then swallow and wait a minute between bites. I reckon with the waiting i could of knitted a jumper!!! Ask your doc for advice on how to eat for your band. Best of luck! Im aussie, could anyone tell me more about papaya enzymes? Did you get a letter automatically? I must say i was suprised when i asked mr burton if i could see the dietician he said he doesnt place a great emphisis on it but yes i could, mire interested in getting rid of appite and stuff and losing weight. So i made an appoitment at glen iris, but re-read the eating for a month plan and it does clearly state its in the package. So thats good. Im just a little suprised by what he said, i thought he would support it more, but yes we will meet!! Im looking forward to learning about how to eat and live with my band. Since we forked out $3400!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I must say the extra Protein i had last night for tea really helped!!!!! Cos when i wake up im usually a little peckish, but this morning im not, and enjoying my coffee, more than when i first got half way through mushie week. Oh i have to say i watched the movie aurthurs christmas and the best line that i think has ever existed is now an gift wrapping elf who says there is always time for a bow!!! So cute. Oh i weighed before chrissy and 3 days after just out of interest but i weigh myself every friday cos my op was on a friday. Anyways have a lovely trip and i look foward to seeing you next year! That sounds so weird!!! Soon they will be selling hot cross buns!!! Have a lovely day everyone!!!!!

OMG!!!!! Work is horrible, so busy and im sick of asking if peeps want tarts or chrissie cakes and rolls in paper or plastic! Honestly the only thing we dont ask is would you like fries with that! Im 3 weeks out or 21 days. I got my fill on wednesday which was fine. I lost 5kg in the first week. I asked him how big our pouch is and he said only enough to hold a teaspoon cos i said i was confused by the book, so thats why we have to wait between bites. I also asked him what i could eat at work when im starving and he said some nuts, tried it thursday night cos we closed at 9:30pm and it worked. I asked him if i could see the dietician but he said he doesnt place a big emphasis on it, but im so out of ideas on food that im borred with food and i need to understand this band as my last one i could almost eat a full size meal. And plus WE have paid a massive amount to get this after care its even in the book and description of fees. Oh the duetion helen something, cant remember her last name has a web site that has recipes that i would have never thought of. It doesnt have cals but the only bad thing in some is oil for the pan which spray could subsitute. Apart from that in the middle of the night im hungry and i have a bottle if Water on my bed side table i have a few skulls and tell myself im full. Im down just over 10kg. With my last band it took me about a year to loose that. So now my depression has gone. And im below 110kg in a while so im pretty happy! Hope everyone is going well, including the chrissie shopping!!!! Ive got in my head what im going to eat for chrissie lunch, but my brother just told me that i put a 2 cent bet on that my 18 month old nephew will eat 3 times more than me!!!!!!! And im 32!! Hey at least unlike everyone else we wont put on chrissie weight!!! I used to use it as an excuse!!! Anyways another essay from me, the myans got it wrong, we are still here the world didnt end! Hey there, i exercise on the wii fit plus, it also has other programs like the biggest loser challege and zumba 1 and 2 which also tell you how many cals. I cant afford the gym and here its summer so you can relax with the fan on. I like it more now than when i just used to jump on it for a while. I do just over 30 mins and burn about 170 cals, if theres nothing on the telly ill jump on again!!!

I cant afford a gym so i use the wii fit plus, its great cos it tells you how long and how many cals. Also zumba on wii is also great cos you forget your exercising!!!!!

Im 3 weeks post op and our pouch is large enough to only hold 1 tsp ir 1 small forkful, so we have strict eating rules. I totally get you though!!! Im aussie so just about every other night every one is having a bbq!!! And walking past food shops, i just inhale really deeply and then think if i eat it im just going to chunder and it will taste even worse on the way back up. Saves me money though!!!

Hey kate, i dont know if there is a set loss per week. How often did weight watchers, jenny craig, tony ferguson and dieticans tell us we MUST lose a min of 0.5-1kg per week. And then there look of dissapointment in us!! Amusing now! Cos we are actually doing a total health and lifestyle change with support and being charged to get weighed or to buy meals, we are actually in it for the long term not just to get to goal!! Oh i had a very depressing day at work today, at the bakery i just came back from slicing bread and another customer said she is sooo fat!!! How could she get a job here!! I bet she eats everything here!! Thats why theres hardly any sweets!!! And it was just me and a guy on so odviously they werent talking about him! I know i shouldnt let it get to me, but ive always been sensitive. I had to force myself to eat lunch again for work and left some for the angels! Im glad im seeing mr burton on wednesday to ask for help. Cos also if im closing were i dont get home till 7pm i have serious episodes of hunger but i try and drink a litre of Water each shift. I know its unhealthy to try and force myself to eat its just that once we are at work we dont sit or stop especially with santa coming soon!! Does any one have any advice on what i could do considering we cant snack?? Kate it would be wonderful to welcome you to the easter personal challenge. In the first week post op the usual weight loss is aprox 5kg then it slows as you eat more. If you like you can put your start weight now and what you would like to be as your going in for you op in jan so you have a head start? Loz what was your last meal? I was on pre op diet but on the wednesday i had a bar of choccie and some ham and cheese and also fetta spinach danishes and icing off a finger bun. Thursday i had roast pork with crackle and gravy apple sauce and potatos, i savoured every bite!! Best of luck being sliced and diced tomorow and as long as you get happy drugs to take home you will be fine!!!

Thats godd gets it out of the way!!!! I was a morning case as well. So if we are starting the next morning as day 1, day 4 my gosh seems like forever ago!!! I was still sleeping in the afternoons and really wasnt that hungry, i think the soreness then just became an ache. And i got a had a traditional cough so remember to support to wounds, mine were easy all but 1 tiny one under my other boob that was doing the support! The left shouldertip pain had gone and i was able to fart again!! I still wasnt very hungry, i carried around a kidies pop top juice if we were going out. That was my first walk near the beach watching the waves of Ocean Grove went for 15 mins and built up from there. I found that if i walked to fast it would feel like my tummy was wobbling but it didnt hurt. I also treated myself to a small skinny flat white from gloria jeans and sipped it over an hour cos i figured while i was staying at my parents house i better get my roots done, had such bad regrowth. And no pain sitting in the chair for just under 3 hours. Also driving is 5-7 days. As i lived by myself in melb i decided to wait the 7 days, so i got done one friday then travel back the next friday. Some car insurance peoples wont cover you between a certin stage of recovery. I also used this time to re-read some of of the chapters and regualy go over the first months eating plan. Otherwise do what your body tells you, if you need to sleep or even just walk to the letter box! Hopefully today wont drag!!!! What are you going to have as your last meal, last chips or chocolate? I didnt get much sleep but just remember you will be asleep soon! 2 weeks ago i turned down family photos with my niece and nephew cos of me returning to 119kg, but im looking forward to them next year! Cos i dont want to be the fat aunty!!

Hey everyone!! Well today was my first day back at work. I loved the smell when the medetrain pizzas came out of the oven!!!! I had to sort of make myself eat at 12pm cos i had to go in early and i wanted to be sure on my cals cos otherwise it was the food court. I used to be so easy to eat early and when your not very hungry cos you needed to. So i only managed probley 1/4 cup instead of 1/2 cos i was only a bit pekish, like not ready to eat yet. Then at work i was starving!!!!! But that passed twice. But i didnt get home till 7pm but drank about a litre of Water and had salad but in total today including the coffee im enjoying now, i have had only 268 cals and thats without exercise!! But im going to get on the wii fit even though my feet are sore from running around, but even if its only 20 mins i know i will feel better about myself!!! Part of the journey after all. Would any one else like to join our new years easter personal challenge? Loz you must be counting down!!!! What time do you go in? We will all be thinking of you!

Welcome summer, and im glad you found us! Can you give me a heads up on what happens at the dietician sessions? I under stand that she has written a book, would you recomend getting it before the first appoitment with her? Also any recipe ideas ive just started week 3 and i think i might be in the green zone, im not hungry between meals and have and enjoy coffee for breakie. i have my first post-op appoitment on wednesday. My doc is mr burton , lovely man!! I agree even though it does cost quite a bit i dont think we could ask for better centre. Have you found your health has changed? Im looking foward 2 having 2 thighs instead of one!! Especially i hope for next summer! Cos i would love love to were skirts again, and less knee pain especially when walk on the beach!! I grew up in Ocean Grove, so no idea why i would ever to move to ballarat, melbourne, hobart, ocean grove and now melb again. But to get my 2nd band, i dont think i could ever have chosen a better centre and im glad i stared this thread as the site is so amercian! did you have any medical issues before, that are easing because of your weight loss? I dont have any besides sore knees, except a massive family history that my parents have, including dads side with diabetes. So welcome again with big cuddly hugs from all of us!!!!! Any advice is greatly welcomed!!!

People must say it to think they are doing us a favor!! I still get told to wait for a man cos the time i stop looking he will fall in my lap. I hate to break the news but it hasnt worked! I stoped ages ago! Loz you had a great idea about personal challenges. I think we could make out first time frame easter so i think thats april, what do you guys think? While everyone is around us eating and putting on empty cals! When i was a kid i used to love the humpty dumty with smarties inside!! Oh im susie by the way. So 4 months away So at at the moment im: 111.1kg. By easter i would like to be 95kg. Any one else like to play? Have a lovely soggy day, petfect for jumping in puddles!!!!!!

I hate it cos people go to aldi then to us or to see santa and the to us, we hate the weekend, i look at it as incidental exercise!!! And i will be using muscles i have happily forgotten about! When you see you mum just tell her you have to have fluids so you dont get sick, very plasable!!!!! And if she presses you could just say oh i had a lap band put in the other day, and if she has issues let her express them but you can come on and tell us her response, im sure im not the only one who likes goss. Does any one else have a problem of loving to read to much into things? Im guilty!!!!! At least by the end of next week everyone will have 2 people to bounce off. Oh i got that card saying i have a lapband to keep in your wallet and it has an xray image i dont know if its me or generic, its a 10ml band and it says fill amount range, your doc and there phone number. Very handy so they dont force the wrong food on us!!! Anyways off to bed now. Have a lovely weekend while i slave away still being the fat girl that the apron barley fits and who has eaten the shop 3 times over!!!! I know by next new years i should be well on my way to goal and the misery and the way they treat me will be so different!! Or you could tell your mum that you have gone on a new liquid diet for a week, pluasable! Have a good one

Welcone with big cuddly hugs from all of us chelsea!!! I think you would make us laugh if you were 32!!!! And in melb!!! Im also with bupa they cover everything but are not friends with every hospital cos i had to pay for the days i stayed. Do research and talk to any one and every one!! Oh im happy today 2 weeks post-op 7.9kg. Oh my advice dont have metamucil in the morning cos i did and didnt eat all day!!! Totally not hungry! I was waiting to get hungry, weirdest feeling ever! I used to chuck heaps with my old band but it doesnt hurt only the pain from being stuck. Which passes but you dont feel like eating after it. Today im off mushies and softer food with like extra sauce or mayo. I was tested today i ate out with my friend and i had sumo salad and i asked for less lettuce, it was a chicken cheese avacado mayo and i did really well!! As long as you chew food to mush and you wait a min inbetween swallows you should be fine. I just had tea and to help keep the cals down cos of the mayo and crumbed chicken and cheese i decided not to have Protein tonight, i no that i shouldnt. So i had avacado, 1 sugar snap pea, mushrooms and 2 cherry tomatoes and mustard mayo, weighed it so i can track my cals. Oh advice with tomatoes, i found the skin was hard to chew so i peeled them and still stuck to my 1/2 a cup. Otherwise ive just finished my 2 weeks off and go back to work at bakers delight tomorrow! I will only miss the spinach fetta and cheese danish after we stick them in the oven. Oh i found a steamer is a fantasic way to chuck everything in inluding eggs, so as everyone but me has kidies, well i dont know if 2 zhu zhu pets count. Its a george forman $49 and fits tons. If you have any questions ask away and i have this on my mobile so i can get back quickly. Im great at writing essays!!! Oh if you have an android phone, i would recomend downloading my fitness pal so you can track your weight and cals and exercise. Also calorie king or you can get the book, its great especially for coffees!!! Have a great night and great to see so many of us on here!!!

Take tolitries, as if you were staying some were. I stayed 2 nights instead of one so you could always pack some p.js dont forget undies!!!!!! When walking around you can always ask for a second gown and put it the other way so you dont have your arse flappin in the breeze! Just trackie pants and t-shirts cos after all we arent there to impress anyone!!!
