Aww, I'm sorry. Can you call and maybe get a med that won't upset your tummy?
-
I know the feeling! I started the process last march...got my approval and surgery date in november. I honestly didn't believe it was ever going to actually happen! make sure you keep us updated! Do you have a do a pre op diet or anything?
-
Good luck with your presentation! Isn't it crazy how everything in life seems to involve food of some kind? Meetings, family gatherings, time with friends...ugh! food food food!! Never really paid attention until recently! My daughter wants to go out to dinner for her birthday on Saturday...can't tell her no, but not sure what I'm going to do (just sip on ice Water while everyone else eats?! YIKES!)

Glad to hear everything went well, but sorry about the pain. Sounds like a good plan to have you stay the night. I hope you're feeling better tomorrow.
-
Yep! I honestly thought that seemed like a long time, but now I'm glad...Not sure I could go back to work this weekend already...but I also work nights which I think is harder on the body in general.

Hopefully you'll be feeling better by monday when you go back to work! My dr told me to take two full weeks off, so that's what I did.

Surgery Tomorrow 2/6
MandaMom23 replied to kerri360's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Woo hoo!! Good luck!! -
The only thing I took with me to the hospital was my ID, insurance card, and made sure my hubby had a little bit of cash to get me my prescription for the pain meds. Make sure you wear comfy, stretchy pants and a loose fitting shirt for comfort when you head home. At home, I suggest a heating pad for the gas pains and ice for your tummy (they gave me an ice pack at the hospital). Make sure you're stocked up on liquids, and have all your vitamins ready as well. Congrats and good luck!!

Yay!! Congrats!! It'll be here before you know it! Good luck!

I hope everything went well! Thinking of you!

Haha, yeah. I'm on day 4, and I thought I'd be all good to go by now..pppffft. Apparently I forgot I was having major surgery. Still getting worn out quite easily, and having pain especially where the port is. Trying to sleep at night hasn't been going so good for me either. It IS getting better everyday, and it will for you too! Hang in there!

Glad you're feeling better today. Have a safe trip home!

Yay for getting a date!! I got my approval in November, but my surgeon didn't have anything available until February...I felt like I waited For.Ever. Good luck to you!!

Keep up the great work!

4 days is a long time! I went into surgery just after 9am and was home about 1:30. Make sure you take lots of stuff to do to keep yourself busy!

Doubts - & Wednesdays the Day!
MandaMom23 replied to Redesigned_Curves's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost 5lbs within the first 4 days of my preop diet, then I didn't lose anything again until day 12 (I was finally down 3 more pounds, then 2 more pounds the morning of surgery). I was so frustrated, drinking water like a mad woman, didn't cheat even once, but I did some research and it seems the weight that's lost right away is most likely just water weight. It takes a while for your body to start burning actual fat. Hang in there! It'll all be worth it! -
I had my surgery on friday, and I'm still not feeling all that great. While the pain doesn't seem as bad today, I'm still feeling quite weak and worn out. I have a lot of discomfort around my largest incision. I'm just listening to my body, and laying low. I am trying to get up and do more things for myself to try to get my strength back, but I'm not pushing anything. Is your chest tightness maybe from the gas? I haven't had to deal with too much of that (just a bit of shoulder discomfort). We'll get through this! We can handle a few days of discomfort, before we know it we'll be on our way to our new healthier selves!

Yay!! Good luck ladies!!

No, I haven't had a bm yet, but I feel like I'd feel so much better if I could. I have some MOM that I may take later. -
Good luck to Feb 1 Surgeries!!
MandaMom23 replied to general_antiope's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm still feeling sore today, especially around my largest incision. I haven't needed any pain meds at all today, so that's good. I'm also still feeling bloated. I'm assuming the bloating is from the gas. My stomach is rumbling non stop, but I don't feel hungry at all. I took a shower, and took my bandaids off, and got light headed (from taking off the bandaids and not knowing what I would see! ...I'm such a baby! haha). Hoping everyday just keeps getting better and better. I'm on full liquids until the 19th...so I can have greek yogurt, sugar free pudding, sf popsicles, broth, unsweetened applesauce, protein drinks. So far everything's going down ok, but I do get uncomfortable if I eat too fast. -
Pre op diet: how much did you lose?
MandaMom23 replied to contrabanded's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on a 2 week preop diet (3 shakes/2 protein bars/unlimited veggies/3oz lean protein each day), and I lost 11lbs in that 2 weeks. I lost 30lbs total pre surgery. -
Good luck to Feb 1 Surgeries!!

Hi everyone! Thank so much for your thoughts, prayers, and well wishes! I got home yesterday around 1pm. Went into surgery at 9:10...all went well! I'm feeling fairly well, mostly just sore around where the port is. I'm also having some of the gas pains in my shoulder. I have been sipping on liquids a lot, but haven't eaten anything yet...not hungry. I need to try to get some Protein in me though. My band is empty, no fills until I'm 6 weeks out. So glad you other ladies seem to be doing well too! I still can't believe I finally have my band!! YAY! -
Guess I'll be the first to post here I'm getting banded Feb. 1st, I can't wait! It's been scheduled for nearly 2 months, and seemed to far away! In less than 2 weeks I start my pre op diet...time I has really flown!! Who else is getting banded in February?!
