My surgery is May 13!!!!! Today was the second day of my pre-op liquid diet (my doc only requires 5 day pre-op diet. The wife and kids had KFC. I drank chicken broth. LOL

Well weight loss comrades, I officially started my pre-op liquid diet today. My surgery is on Monday. I've attached a copy of my delicious Breakfast I had this morning! The in-laws are coming today. They are flying in from overseas to help my wife and I with the kids during my recovery. Wish me luck!!!

Well I got home from work today and the wife and kids had KFC, which smells delicious, but I'm being a good boy and munching on sugar free Popsicles and having chicken broth. LOL

It's very common until you get your fills and they eventually hit your "sweet spot".

Mark, Those are all normal feelings. The lapband surgery has been around for years now and is minimally invasive. You will be just fine! I've had five surgeries during my life and have had no complications with the anesthesia during any of them. You're doing the right thing---it will be done and over with before you know it! Hang in there!

Try hypnosis. Sounds crazy, but really works.

Banding is actually the safest of all the weight loss surgeries. It's minimally invasive and they just place a silicone band with a port in you. Don't be scared! What you should be scared if us being overweight and what it causes---severe joint pain, high cholesterol, diabetes, heart disease, sleep apnea, etc. Being nervous and anxious is normal, but don't make the mistake if talking yourself out if a surgery that may very well save your life!

Oh dear, that's terrible!!! Do you think you may have made some poor choices along the way, which may have contributed to your 65 lb gain?

I start my liquid diet Wednesday. Hang in there. The sacrifices you are going to make on this journey, in the end, are an awful small price to pay for the healthy life and good looks you have awaiting you as a banded individual.

Don't fall into that trap!!! Your fate is to be skinny and healthy, that's why you need to go through with your surgery. I recently read 93% of the people that have the LapBand approve of the surgery. Many wonder why they didn't have it sooner!!! Have the surgery and set yourself free!!!

Sounds like you got two options. Broadcast to everyone you're having the procedure before your wife tells everyone (she will find out) or dump her so you can keep it a secret. I'd keep the wife and just tell everyone what your doing. Anyway, who cares? It's not like they don't know you have a weight problem. If you start losing weight rapidly and they notice what are you going to tell them? You're on a Water and rice cake diet?
