I am one of those lucky people who have had weight issues all of my life! I have done every diet there is. I could lose the weight but when I stopped dieting, it always came back. In my mid 40's it just seemed like I gained weight and couldn't lose. I got to a point where I just didn't care! I have always been healthy, but carrying around the extra weight was taking a toll on my back, legs and feet!
I have friends who had the lapband, and I encouraged them. I thought I put this weight on, I can take it off by myself. NOT!
I work at a hospital that has recently started the bariatric program, and alot of my coworkers were having it done and looking so good! So August 31st, 2012 I had my consulation. I had to see a pychologist, and dietician. I lost 6lbs in 2 weeks with the dietician. My surgery was scheduled for Nov 12, 2012. I stayed the night in the hospital, just in case. All went well and home the next day. The first week I wasn't hungry at all. The second week...very hungry! I slipped and ate food! Now back to following dr orders! I am bound and determined to lose! I have my 1st post op dr visit tomorrow! I have lost 30lbs since this all started, that I am prou of. Could have never done it without the lapband!
