  1. I didn't have a pre op diet, but did have a post op diet. Lol.
  2. Me? I was serious during the post op diet. I was a wee bit crazy though, I made melon and cucumber water, even made a concoction out of pickle juice. I would crush Popsicles and then eat them like a snow cone. I would freeze my protein drinks and made shaved ice treats out of them too.

    Gurgle Gurgle

I had another fill today and tonight I have my gurgle back.
  4. I didn't have a pre op diet. I wish I would have, I went crazy and kept having "one last meal", I gained five pounds in a week.

What to bring on surgery day?

A shirt that buttons in the front, not one you pull over your head. I learned that the hard way. Best of luck to you!

    Should I

I was never able to last two weeks on a diet. Every Sunday I would over indulge because every Monday I was starting a new diet. By Tuesday I would fail. I doubted Lapband would help me, but I took a chance and it has been the best thing I could have done for myself. Today I am wearing a size 14 down from a 22 and I am confident I will get down to a size 7. Even after I got the band I thought I'd be a failure. However, once I got the right amount of "fill", I was no longer hungry, I didn't graze on food during the day, I was satisfied on much smaller portions. The inches came off. I don't count carbs or calories, I just find myself eating like a normal person that's a size 7. I've had the Lapband for seven months, I couldn't be happier.

    Half way there!

Thanks Lars! It's taken me seven months. I didn't have a pre op diet. I'm in a size 14, My goal is a size 7. I started at a size 22.
  13. When I'm craving something I brush my teeth and gargle with a strong mouthwash. After doing that, it ruins my taste for a snack. My teeth are getting ridiculously white! Lol!

    Picnic Ideas?

Howdy! I'm trying to think of some band friendly, family friendly picnic food ideas. I'm not really concerned about low fat, low carb ideas for this weekend, but if guys have any recipes I'd love to hear them. Thanks and I hope everyone has a wonderful, warm, sunny and safe holiday weekend.

    MRI?

Is there a restriction for LapBand? I called my surgeon's office and the nurse said, "yeah, I think you're fine, but mention it to the MRI technician, they will know for sure." It was the radiology department that told me to call my surgeon. Has anyone here had an MRI after the LapBand procedure? I guess I can call the manufacturer tomorrow, but I just wondered if anyone here has had one. I can't be the first person with a band that needs an MRI. Gee Whizz, you'd think someone could give me a solid answer.

    Hamburger?

I eat ground beef, but I ask the butcher to grind it a second time. I had a few issues with it in the beginning, but now I am enjoying it.

    Popsicles !

I constantly had a Popsicle in my mouth the first few days. They kept me hydrated and sane! I'm a big advocate for sugar free Popsicles.

    When Can I eat again???

Honey, I feel for you! Now is the time to really utilize the sugar free Popsicles and sugar free jello. I brushed my teeth a lot. I found that I didn't want to eat right after I brushed my teeth so I did it all of the time. Keep your mouth busy with liquid sugar free treats. It was in my first post op days that I developed an appreciation for Crystal light. I also would crush Popsicles and eat them with a spoon, just to get the texture of food. You will make it through, I promise you. (((Hug)))

    Eating small bites

I dice my food up real small before I plate it. I also use small fork and baby spoon. I bought several one minute sand timers for my table and one for each purse. I use the sand timer after each bite and do not take the next bite until one minute has passed. I stop eating after 20 bites (twenty minutes). It's tough, the toughest habit to break. You have to find a method that works for you. You have to train yourself to be super aware when you're eating. This is the method I was taught at True Results. Good luck to you. Eating slow is the "New Yoga" lol.

    Feel good stories! Share yours!

I was a size 22 the day of my surgery 11/01/12. Last night my very petite 11yrs old daughter ran up to me and gave me a hug. She realized her arms could wrap around me. I'm now between a size 16 and 14. It was a very endearing moment and a very pleasurable NSV. I love my LapBand and everyday there is a new reward.
  21. Gerber stage 2 prunes. A natural way to get things moving. Just one or two jars will do the trick and only 70 calories per jar. (Mushy Stage) a lot of prune in a teeny serving. Magic!
  22. I like VitaFusion's gummy multi vitamin for adults. You can buy them at Costco. They are really tasty. Sometimes if I chew them too fast they can get stuck. I can dissolve them completely in my mouth by sucking on them. I absolutely hate vitamins. The smell and taste. These however are very, very pleasant. I could mail you a couple to taste. They hold 2012 Chef's Best Award for taste.

    Cute, cheap bathing suits?

I got one at Walmart too. It's cute as a size 16 suit can be.

    Fill #2 today!!

I would pay my doctor's June mortgage payment if he'd give me permission to eat a grilled cheese sandwich. I haven't had a sandwich in seven months.

    Hair loss

I received my band in November 2012. I have just noticed hair loss in the last two weeks. I have been wearing my hair in a ponytail lately, so I don't know if I am actually having more hair loss, or if my hair isn't able to shed all day long since its pulled back therefore, when I brush my hair at night it appears to be extra loss. Regardless, I went out today and bought 5000mcg of Biotin. I find it humorous that my options are chubby with great hair or skinny and bald. Such is life!
