I was banded November 14, 2008 in Tijuana, Mexico by Doctor Kuri. I was 283 pre-surgery and down to 272 day of operation. I was down to 210 and held it for almost three years until recently when it crept back up to 222. I played with getting fills and unfills and that just adjusted my weight by 3-5 lbs up and down. So I had my band completely unfilled for a month to try the Atkins diet which was very successful for me years before getting the band. This time it didn't work and I have gained 5 lbs up to 227. I have also recently stopped taking birth control pills, which I was on for over 10 years, so I've been told that my body is retaining a lot of water and I need to give it a few cycles (up to a year!) to get back to normal. I started an exercise regimen of sets of crunches, squats, and push-ups followed by jogging on the treadmill. So far I am doing 4 sets of 10 each of the exercises and one mile on the treadmill, which takes about 15 minutes, and I do it first thing in the morning before work - 5 days a week. I hope to increase both my sets and time on the treadmill slowly so I don't get over tired. I have an appointment for November 29th to get my band filled to the amount I had put in after my surgery. I plan to start over as if I just had the band put in, concentrate on my eating, and get support from this forum.
