    Losing my MARBLES!

My surgery was January 9 I have no idea what I will do when my "to go" jar is empty...maybe add a few more marbles? Hehe. I changed my goal from 115 to 125.
  2. I am getting sleeved January 9 at 8am. Yikes!!!! Anyone else???
  3. Hi fellow sleevers. I've been feeling pretty sad and down lately when it comes to my sleeve. I'm still losing weight, although slowly, but I'm not complaining about that. I've tried a 6" from subway a few times now. I can eat the whole thing. And yes, just because I can doesn't mean I have to. But I am just alarmed by the capacity of my stomach based on this. At 4 months I started noticing I could eat more. This does include the bread on the sandwich. I just expected to not be able to fit that much food in my sleeve especially not this early on. Is anyone else in the same boat? If my capacity stayed at this amount forever I wouldn't mind, but I imagine it is just going to continue to increase. so sad...all that money. I don't regret my sleeve, just feeling sad and depressed right now. Is this way too much for those of you at about 5 months out? Or does this seem normal? Certainly doesn't seem normal to me.....
  4. So it seems my capacity is too much for 5 months post op, right? I'm so sad over this.
  5. I did not eat them at the same time. Two different meals...........
  6. To the person who asked why its discouraging I can eat so much more now..... Because its much nicer to have more restriction, simply. I want my stomach to give me a stop signal way before it does. As to the type of sub.... One was ham with only lettuce and mustard on a flatbread. The other was oven roasted chicken on wheat.
  7. Yes like I said, just because I can doesn't mean I have to. I don't drink with meals. And definitely, this really is where the "work" is coming in!! Before surgery I could eat a footlong, chips, 3 cookies and still have room for more! So obviously an improvement, but still scary. I wish it were easier and I couldn't eat as much as I can. It was literally like overnight my capacity increased. Quite discouraging.
  8. Hi everyone. I am 5 months post op and am not one of the lucky ones who lost my hunger. Sadly I've been hungry since I woke up from surgery. For the most part I can usually stay between 800-1000 calories a day. I'm considering taking an appetite suppressant to help with the hunger to get me down to my goal weight. I am still losing weight right now, but I know I could lose SO much more if I wasn't constantly hungry all the time. So, thoughts? Anyone else do this? I have emailed my dietician but have not heard back yet.
  9. Interesting about the omega 3 fats. I am doing everything else correctly. Dense protein, no liquid calories, drinking properly. However I don't like fish and have been taking all supplements except omega 3. I will try that!
  10. I've had popcorn with no problems.
  11. I'm 5 months post op. I started at 206 (37.7 BMI) and am now 152.6 (27.9 BMI). It's coming off extremely slow now!
  12. I stopped taking a PPI not long ago because I felt I didn't need it. I tried a couple different ones. I feel the same off of it as I do on it unfortunately. I really don't think it was doing anything for me. But thank you!
  13. But thank you for the suggestions
  14. That's not the problem I am getting 80-90 grams protein. And I do eat often throughout the day since I am always hungry two hours after I initially eat.

    I miss my vodka!

I'm not against drinking at all. I had a very very very easy recovery from my vsg 5 months ago, and can eat and drink anything. With that said, in my opinion 1 month (4 weeks) post op is too early for vodka. Even I wouldn't have tried that at that point, and I tried a lot.
  16. You should go into this with very real expectations. All of those weight losses are not unusual, but also neither is getting to goal in a fairly short amount of time. The sleeve helps you, but it's really up to you how much you lose!
  17. I eat out a LOT. I'm 4.5 months out, and the only issue I have with eating out with other people is that I'm always starving right before I eat and end up eating too quickly so I'm left there not eating while everyone else finishes their food. But this is just my own struggle, I don't know if others have a hard time making themselves slow down. but aside from that, no issues. I can eat anything. I usually do have leftovers, but I'm starting to not take them home with me anymore because I'm finding they just don't taste good later.
  18. I'm 20 weeks post op, and I can eat absolutely anything. I've been able to since I tried (probably 8-10 weeks out I started experimenting). I can and have been able to since the beginning been able to drink like pre-surgery. No issues at all. So I'm like you. stick to it, I know it's tough.
  19. I just had a grilled chicken cool wrap from Chick Fila for lunch. Anyone had one of these postop yet? I am 18 weeks post op today. The entire wrap is 330 calories, and they cut it in half. I could eat almost 3/4 of one half. So 165 calories and a good bit of protein. Very filling. I'm glad I found this!

    Weight Loss Questions

I definitely think you want them to take 85% not 65%! I think more people don't lose enough versus losing too much.

    regrets

Wish I knew what to tell ya. I'm 4 months out and I'm hungry ALL the time EXCEPT the hour or so after I finish a meal, then I'm hungry again. Lol. Hang in there...it does get a little easier once you can eat solids.

    When can we drink soda

I started drinking diet coke at 10 weeks post op with no problems at all. If you don't have discomfort, go for it.
  23. I posted about this not too long ago! I had my yearly eye exam in December and had my surgery in January. Since then my vision has gone from -5.50 (was stable there for 3 years) to -6.75 in the little time between now and January. I really hope it stops declining since I am so blind!
