    Diet soda

I drink diet coke daily. I am 7 months out and have drank it since I was 2 or 3 months post op. it does not stretch your stomach.
  3. I am so sorry to hear this. My heart hurts for you. I hope you find a way to make it work for you even if it is harder than it should be.
  4. Well, crap. I have already had my VSG, so there is nothing I can do about this now. I am reading online now though that a partial gastrectomy has shown to really increase a persons risk for pancreatic cancer. I think we all know what BAD news that cancer is. Google it, easy to find. There have been studies on it. Why didn't I see this before surgery during all of my crazy research?? I was a low bmi'er too, so this surgery was not life or death for me. Does anyone have any insight? Perhaps able to make me feel better!? I wish I had never read it now.
  5. Just google "partial gastrectomy causes increased risk of pancreatic cancer". Lots of websites come up. I think this would of definitely impacted my decision as well. I have officially scared myself.

    dating and body issues...

Definitely tell him about the surgery before any nekkie times. To help with any body image nerves, have a glass of wine (or two).

Newbie here! Introducing myself. Anyone from tennessee?

I'm in Nashville and had my surgery done by Dr Houston @ Centennial.
  8. I'm 6 months post op and was a severe binge eater before surgery. It's the primary reason I got the surgery, so that I could no longer binge anymore. I still want to binge sometimes, but the feeling is not as strong. This surgery took my free will away when it comes to binging, which is what I wanted. So the sleeve definitely helps. My brain still wants to sit down and eat 3000 calories in one sitting, but so thankful my tummy just doesn't allow it anymore.

    Slow weight loss

You're so early out. Trust me things will speed up soon. Try not to stress about it.

    Seriously? Does everyone exercise?

In my 28 years in this life, the only exercise I have found that I actually enjoy is swimming. But all of the fitness centers around here always have so many people swimming laps in the pool, so that keeps me from going a lot of times. Not a good excuse I know, but a ton of other people in the pool doesn't sound too appealing. I've been doing my Arc Trainer 40-60 minutes a day, but that doesn't mean I like a single second of it.
  11. I'm almost 6 months out and haven't had a single problem.

    Random Hiccups?

Yes I get these "random hiccups"! It is also when I am not eating. My coworkers always giggle at me. I'll just randomly have one loud hiccup.... And we're all just like "random hiccup!" It's become a little joke with us.
  14. I did 400-600 calories a day for the first 3 months. In my 4th month I always aimed for 600, but usually landed around 800. At 5.5 months out now, I shoot for 1000 a day and it seems to be working the best for me.
  15. I think the first time I drank wine was maybe 3 months? But honestly can't remember....definitely within 3 months though. I'm 5.5 months out now and have had a glass twice this week.

    anyone from vanderbilt wlcenter?

I did not have my surgery at Vanderbilt but instead at Centennial. I'm sure any procedure out there is done wonderfully at Vanderbilt.

    Low calories-slow weight loss

How far along are you? Just from my experience: the first 3 months I ate 400-600 calories a day. Month 4 I started eating about 800 but still tried to shoot for 600, it was just much harder. Now I am 5.5 months out and I shoot for 1000 calories a day. I lose about 1-2 lbs a week and don't have too much left til I hit goal. Everyone is different. My nutritionist doesn't recommend I eat more than 800 a day, but I feel more normal at 1000 and am still losing, so sometimes you know your body better than anyone.
  18. My goal since the beginning of this was to get a breast lift (no implants, just a lift). My starting weight was 206 and I'm down to 150 right now. I'm 5'2" and 28 years old if that matters. A healthy weight for me is 136 (on the higher end) but I would like to get to 125....but I also know my body is quite comfy at 130. Anyhow, should I wait until I completely get to goal to do the lift or is it ok to do it a little earlier? I don't want my boobs messed up AFTER the surgery is over! But I'm also anxious to get it done.
  19. It's the same as it was before surgery for me.

    Tennessee sleevers

    I'm in Nashville.
  21. Oh durn....I don't plan on having kids for a few years. But I really don't wanna wait til my late 30s to get my lift done! I may just do it once I hit goal, and after kids if I need another one I'll do it again! Hahaha
  22. Ever since I was sleeved, I've had my "lost" and "to go" marble jars. They sit on my desk at work and are a great reminder each day to do my best. I thought I would share so others could try the same..... It is really a great visual!!
