  1. Thank you! Will look into him. Keep them coming everyone else!
  2. Thank you for that. I will look into the other surgeons that others recommended. Do you happen to have any you favor?
  3. Laura- Dr Armanza's office actually just called me telling me what they offer. Is that not a good route? I didn't get a good vibe when you put the hospital in parenthesis. Please explain.
  4. I think my boyfriend may go to get it done. But I have no idea where to begin to get the best surgeon and best overall experience at a low price? Can anyone help? Dr. Acezes seemed a little high. I would like hotel and airfare to be included, if possible.
  5. Hi everyone. I'm 5 pounds from goal and therefore starting to stress a little about maintenance. I'm even considering losing another 5 pounds for a little safety. I'm curious when you all first got to goal, what did your maintenance calories get up to? I'm 5'2", female, and my goal weight is 125. When I google maintenance calories for this, it says like 1600 calories. That seems like an awfully lot. Help!

  8. Hey there! Our stats are somewhat similar, not exact, but I think close enough to comment. My starting weight was 206 and I am 5'2. I have lost 70 lbs in 8 months. 206 lbs to 136 pounds, as of right now. I don't know if you have been sleeved yet, but becoming "anorexic" is very, very, very (have I mentioned VERY?) uncommon. I couldn't even imagine that. In the first few months after surgery, you can't eat much, but as time goes on, YOU CAN EASILY. I am 8 months out now, and yesterday I consumed 2400 calories. I know, right? That isn't everyday. I normally try to eat very clean. But if i wanted to, eating a lot is easy. But as far as becoming anorexic from a previous very obese person (just generalizing bariatric patients), anorexia is one of the absolute least of the worries. The further you get out, the more you can eat. Take advantage of the "honeymoon" phase. It is very real.
  9. I am posting with a before and after picture of my lunch today. I'm 8 months out and worry that I can eat a lot more than others. So anyone around this time frame, or beyond, is this too much at this stage? The wrap is one of those Hormel Rev Wraps. It is about 3 ounces. I know that is within the "normal" range for us sleeves, but I could easily still eat something else (dessert! Or anything and go up to 5 or 6 ounces, and yes even with dense protein) I just stopped because this is all I put on my plate. Opinions please. As each month passes I can eat more and more.
  10. I think I can eat about 5-6 ounces of a filet mignon and a couple bites of a side.

    Anyone starting out around 225lbs?

I'm 28 and 5'2 and my starting weight was 206. I am 8 months post op. I'm at 137 now, and trust me losing too much isn't going to be an issue!! You will be able to eat much more as time goes on.

    All you can eat

I think in the beginning it's easy for us to tell ourselves that we can still eat what we want and not exercise, because the honeymoon phase is REAL, trust me. Once that ends and you can eat more, watch out..... That is when you have to fall back on the good habits that you should of established in the beginning. I'm 8 months out, and I have to make a conscious effort each day to not do things that will make me gain weight.
  13. Hi guys and gals! I'm not big into before and after pics. I'm only posting this to help the newbies who may have been at my height and starting weight. It would of been helpful to me in the beginning. I am seven months out. I am only posting a side pic, because I don't want the front of of my big fat face showing on the interwebz. Hehe. My pants in the after shot are getting a bit baggy now...but anyhow, here it is. I still have about 18 lbs to goal.

    No Restriction

I can eat a lot of salad and I'm 8 months out.
  15. This is so odd and the only thing I think could be causing it is my VSG surgery, even though it doesn't make sense! I had my VSG on January 9. Right before that I had my annual eye exam and my eyes had not changed in a couple years. Same prescription. I went back to the eye doctor a couple of weeks ago and suddenly my eyesight in my right eye has gone from a -5.50 to a -6.50 (yes I'm blind as a bat!) All since my surgery! my left eye got a little worse too but not as much as my right eye. So now, two weeks later, I am noticing my vision is not as clear in my right eye which means it has gotten worse within two weeks! I have another appointment for Wednesday. Has anyone had this happen or heard of it?

    Looking for Tennesee Buddies

Hi Anika. I'm in Nashville as well. I had surgery in January with Dr Houston at Centennial. Very awesome that your insurance is covering it, mine didn't. Where is Gateway Medical Center? Never heard of it. Best of luck! Let me know if you have questions.

    Foods you cant have again

I'm 7 months post op and there is nothing that I cannot tolerate, or that makes me more uncomfortable than the other. I can eat absolutely anything with no negative reaction.
  18. The only thing I regret about my surgery is what I paid out of pocket for it. $17,500. Now that I am 7 months post op and get a better glimpse of how things are now that I an in the real world, I would not pay more than $7,000 for the surgery. It is not worth more than that in my opinion. But if your insurance pays, that's great.
  19. I am starting to research my upcoming breast lift surgery. I do not want implants. Can anyone post their before and afters? I don't want to see any with implants at all. I'm not sure if these types of pics can be posted on the forum. If not, my email is jennLg2@gmail.com ( j e n n L g 2 @ g m a i l . c o m ) Or if anyone knows of any websites that are easy to navigate through ONLY breast lift photos with no implants, I would love to know the site. I run into way too many before and afters with implants. I would really appreciate any help with this, friends!! It is a very exciting time to get to this point!

Has anyone not had hair loss?

My hair loss started at about 3.5 to 4 months, but I noticed it started to slow down at 6 months. Now that I am 7 months out, I think the hair I am losing is a normal amount of hair any other normal person would lose. no bald spots, nothing like that. It's scary while it's happening because you don't know how long it will last. But mine stopped at the perfect time. I still have thick hair.

    Two Month Stall

Stalls are pretty common, but I think maybe you should start working on your expectations now. The further out you get, the less you usually lose each week.

    quick easy grab n go?

My saving grace has always been Boards Head turkey pepperoni (70 cals per serving, 10 grams protein I think) and the Sargento reduced fat Colby jack cheese. Also 70 calories and maybe 7 grams protein. I wrap the pepperoni around the cheese and eat it that way. So yummy. I actually eat it for lunch a lot.
  23. I can TOLERATE everything but for the most part pizza doesn't taste good to me anymore. I used to eat it multiple times a week...loved it! Now when someone offers to order pizza, I'm like NOOOO! Gross
  24. Well, I don't exercises anymore. LOL. My weight loss has been a little slow but I'm ok with that. I'm not as strict with my diet as I was in the beginning. Around 5 months out I could start eating a lot more. Honestly, I eat what I want...but it is much better than before surgery.
  25. I'm 7 months out and was doing fairly well at 1000 calories a day. Well for the last two weeks I have been SO hungry and my days have ended at around 1600-1700 calories. I am 5'2, 143 pounds. I wouldn't think I would lose weight at this calorie range (I am not exercising right now). The first week I lost 2 pounds and this week looks like I will lose the same (my official weigh in day is tomorrow). Am I just being lucky or what??? Does anyone know why I would be losing weight at this calorie range? I am NOT complaining, just thinking it is too good to be true and temporary.
