  1. I didn't really have any pain. My stomach was just sore. That's all.
  2. What you're feeling is totally normal. I know it sucks, but hang in there. Dealing with the hunger the first month out while on all of the different food stages is really hard!! You won't start to feel satisfied until you're eating dense protein.
  3. I'm 15 weeks post op and drink diet coke and diet sprite daily with no issues.
  4. No regrets. Dealing with the hunger when only being allowed 600 calories a day is very difficult though. That's the only bad thing for me. I'm always hungry and feel that I am constantly struggling on a strict diet (which I am).
  5. I'm 5'2" and weighed 206 when I had my surgery on 1/9/13. I'm 159 today. I have a good bit to go!

    HERE IT GOES...

My surgeon has allowed straws since the beginning. They do not stretch your stomach nor do carbonated drinks. If you have excess air in there, you burp.

    The beloved "Food Funeral".

Hehe....I really wish the sleeve slapped that **** out of my hand! I was not so strong pre-op. I wouldn't say I had a food "funeral", but I certainly binged (but I always did, so it wasn't anything too different from my norm!) I can certainly eat anything I want and have been able to since very early post-op, so I'm not missing anything. But at the same time I certainly don't regret pigging out before surgery. In fact I'm kind of glad I did, strangely! But I admire your determination. Good luck.

    Dumb move

I've been able to guzzle since I was in the hospital. So strange how everyone is so different!

    Well I'm a slow loser

I don't think this is slow at all!

    When am I full?

My full feeling pretty much feels like there is not anymore room.

    Hungry?

I'm 14 weeks postop and also hungry the majority of the time. Have been since very early out.
  12. I've pretty much told everyone. The only slightly negative comments I have received were pre-op from my parents, and it was just out of concern for my well-being as this is a pretty serious surgery. I don't think it is something to hide. You may even motivate someone else who is struggling with their weight to start researching the same route you took. I don't get the "easy way out" comments at all. Most people are just curious and comment that it takes a lot of courage to do something like this. But if I had chosen to not tell anyone, I could of. I am not losing weight so fast that it is suspicious of surgery or anything. I think I'm losing at a pretty "normal person" pace.
  13. I'm almost 13 weeks postop and I still have hunger, sadly.
  14. I started with a BMI of 37. I would do it again.
  15. Oh my freaking crap!!!! This is insane! You look incredible!!!!!!!!!

    Any regrets at all?

No regrets. I didn't think I'd be one of those people who are always like "I wish I did it sooner!" But it's true....I wish I did it sooner! Lol
  17. Does anyone know of a good book on just the sleeve?
  18. I take the following: Multivitamin daily (Centrum chewable) Calcium 1200mg daily (so two 600mg tablets a day) Vitamin D 5000mg daily Biotin 5000mg daily B12 shot once a month

    Return to normal life?

I think 4 weeks is more than enough.

    Any Vanderbilt Sleevers?

I'm doing great! I will be 12 weeks tomorrow. I have lost 40 pounds so far and I work out an hour on the arc trainer about 4-5 days a week. I can eat anything, just small quantities.

Wendys jr cb 3 wks out

I'm 12 weeks post op, and for the first time had this very same burger over the weekend. I was able to eat most of it, but at 3 weeks I could not of eaten it. I remember at your stage feeling hungry very often too. Try to stick to your surgeons eating plan and you'll be fine.
  22. I am completely confident in my decision to have this surgery, EXCEPT the unknown of the long term effects. Mostly concerned about the loss in the Ghrelin hormone. And yes i know other parts of the body release this hormone, but i imagine a LOT of it will be gone with this surgery. Can anyone calm my mind about this?
  23. Well, I just want to wish you luck and I hope this all starts working out better for you soon. Personally I think the whole "long stomach" (tall people) thing is a real issue. I've heard of other tall people with this same issue quite a few times. Good luck!
