After having lost close to 50 lbs, the girls have gone south on me. I was just measured 2days ago. I went from a 38dd to a 36dd,or a 34ddd. I went to Dillard's for my fitting, and was very impressed with Wacoal bras. The bras are very comfortable, and they do a major lift for the girls. They lift you without all the padding. They r somewhat pricey,$50-$80, but totally worth it.

So what about straws?
Hotstuff replied to juliecatherine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor did tell me no straws. Basically because of the air that gets trapped into your stomach. I have tried to use a straw, but the trapped air, sent me to the emergency room. They did a scan, only to find out it was air trapped into my small intestines. Never again, will I not follow doctors orders. -
Yesterday was my 6month Surgiversary. I am proud to say that my total weight loss is 41lbs. Yes,I felt I should have lost a little more, but I'm still a work in progress. I'm excited about this journey, because it only gets better. The Lapband has given me a new lease on life. Im loving the idea of buying new clothes, especially SKINNY JEANS!!!! I started at size 18/20, now I'm in between size 12/14. My confidence has been boosted by the many complements that I have received. Thanks to you guys who always show me continued support.

It's very normal to have pain at the site of your port. I noticed after my surgery that I could not lay on the side that my port was located. Today is actually my 6month Surgiversary, and I can do squats, situps, you name it,I can do it. So take one day at a time, and enjoy the journey.

Going for first fill on Friday, little scared!
Hotstuff replied to Beth A's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is no need to be scared. My first fill took about 5 mins. What's ironic, is that I'm afraid of needles. All I felt was a little pinch. You will be just fine -
What did you tell you family/friends?
Hotstuff replied to charlibell's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The only people that knew about my surgery was my mother, sister, and grandmother. My grandmother was super negative, she said that I could lose weight without having surgery. I had been battling with my weight for the last 4yrs. My mom and my sister have been my cheerleaders. They encourage me all the time. It's very important to be around positive people. -
Anyone else losing weight very slowly or not at all like me?
Hotstuff replied to Harrier's Woman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think that as a bandster, we have all dealt with this same issue. Losing weight prior to the band was totally non existent for me. I could not lose a pound. Had my surgery Nov 2012 at my highest weight 225 lbs. Today 194lbs,that's 31 lbs in 3 months. I'm happy, because I made the right decision with the band, and so have you. You have done a marvelous job, keep it up. We all lose weight differently, but what matters the most is that you LOSE. -
I have done curves in the past, and I loved it. It incorporates interval and circuit training in 30 minutes. I will be starting up again this week. They also have Zumba fitness at Curves. I can't wait. With Curves u burn a lot of calories, not to mention inches.

What kind of scars do you have?
Hotstuff replied to SWChitown's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have 5 scars. The largest scar is where my port is. -
2 1/2 months...down 49lbs :)
Hotstuff replied to jg9956's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You look amazing!!!!! Congratulations. I myself was banded 11/21, and my first fill was 1/15. I have lost a total of 30 lbs in two months. I'm loving the band, my weight loss has been gradual, but it is very noticeable. I feel great, my energy is through the roof. I used to be size 18/20,now I'm size 16, going into 14. When I see results, it further motivates me. That motivation takes me to my next level. -
Congratulations!!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!!

. I will follow a liquid diet today, and return to Phase 4( solid foods w veggies) on tomorrow. My nutritionist said there will be restriction, so I may want to do mushies, and gradually work my way back. But listen to the Band, and stop when I'm full.
-
Had my first fill this morning as well. Everything went really fast. So far I have lost 25 lbs total, and is looking forward to losing more. 4cc's was added to my realize band. Just to know that I lost 25 lbs without total restriction( band empty). Can't wait till i reach my goal.

Congratulations on your journey. Take one day at a time. Your gonna love it. I myself will be post- op 1week tomorrow. REMEMBER:DRINK,SIP,AND WALK.!!!!!!! -
The best relief for me was walking. I did buy Gas-x strips, and they worked really great along with Walking......

Centrum chewables is what I will be taking for the multivitamin. I will be ordering my iron from bariatric advantage which is a soft chew. Everything else I will get from Walmart. Vitafusion(Walmart)has a great line of gummy vitamins.

Just got banded yesterday. Feeling pretty good. Is there any restriction with the band after surgery, or with your first fill?
-
For proteins i will drink muscle milk RTD(ready to drink).
-
. Yes I am having gas, but I am doing a lot of walking. I bought some Gas-x strips that work as well. My advice would be for you to walk
-
Congratulations. I too myself was banded on yesterday. I feel great, just a little soreness. I was a little afraid to drink too much. Had a little broth, jello, and apple juice. As days go by, we will feel better. Keep it up

Having A Hard Time With The Protein Shake
Hotstuff replied to jaereynoso's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I personally just love Muscle Milk. I purchase the RTD(ready to drink)cartons or bottles. They are much better for me than mixing powdered protein. The flavors are great. Chocolate,Cookies&Cream, and Cake Batter just to name a few. They can be costly, but I am willing to pay for convenience. So keep trying until you find one that u absolutely like. -
Just joining LBT. I have made the decision to go with the Lapband . My surgery date is Nov 21st. Yes that is the day before Thanksgiving. My doctor is Raul Rosenthaul,at Cleveland Clinic in Florida.Just excited and can't wait.
