This is my third thanksgiving since being banded. Unfortunately I'm the cook in the family. I will get a small plate. Get up frequently and the band will keep my intake from getting out of hand. I will also add an extra half hour to my work out regime this holiday season and just enjoy it!

Seems Like Life Revolves Around Exercising And Food
debi_tx78700 replied to 2justme's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Finding the time to exercise is the hardest for me. I have an in home gym. I set up a flat screen with DVD and dvr for my fav shows. Sooo I have to watch them on the treadmill. I do this three times a week for an hour. Makes me feel great and I always wonder why I fight it so much. I've come to the conclusion it's my fat cells trying to stop me lol. I get bored too. Now that the weather has been sooo nice I've been walking the neighborhood. Shake it up when it gets boring. In Austin we have tons of hike and bike trails I take advantage when I can. Don't give up!! Don't let the fat cells win!! -

Anyone Losing More Than 50% Weight
debi_tx78700 replied to ashleysuzanne84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 3 yrs out and have lost 120 of my 140 lbs that I set for myself. My dr considers me at my goal. Diabetes gone for now and off meds. Blood pressure normal without Meds as well. Like everyone is saying it works depending on how much u put into it. If I excercised more I could lose my last 20. But I have to think positive. I've gone from a size 30 to a 12 which is amazing AND I feel great. I can taste just about anything I want without feeling deprived. I've had friends that have been banded, sleeved and gone thru the whole gastric process. All have same issues with different pros and cons. Find what works for u and good luck. -
French Fries?!
debi_tx78700 replied to vanessa1215's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Toasted English muffin with a poached egg sliced avocado and thin sliced tomato for breakfast but can only eat less than half of the English muffin. Looks pretty when I serve it tho. -
French Fries?!

Sourdough is still my fav bread. Can only eat a very small piece of the crusty crust. It satisfies my craving tho and if I dip it in butter I am so in heaven lol. -
This is my third Thanksgiving since being banded. My first Thanksgiving was just ok. I realized for the first time how long everyone sat around the table and just grazed all day long. My second Thanksgiving I knew what I could eat comfortably without becoming sick and running out of the room. This is my third Thanksgiving. I will get a small plate and get up frequently reserving people and cleaning the kitchen AND realizing I now have control...NOT the food!

Bad Breath?
debi_tx78700 replied to asimplegrl4484's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did too! Dr said it was due to dry mouth. I tried sipping water all day long which I was supposed to be doing anyway. That helped a lot. -
French Fries?!
debi_tx78700 replied to vanessa1215's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can eat a couple of them. Chewing them really well helps me feel I'm eating more of them than I am. I used to eat a super sized fry and a huge burger with a DIET coke. LOL. Plus a couple of fried pies when they used to have them. So I figure two wont hurt! -
